THE PAINTING:
If you study art or just one who lives & breathes art,one thing you'll immediately notice in this,are the apparent years the artist has put in,because it's clearly obvious that they are no beginner.
Designed for the culturally refined, art historian's with the focus on the Latin America's.
Our Lady Guadalupe is painted SO beautifully & she's done in rich blue teals & coppery golds.In the painting, the artist used a technique called "Impasto" painting, meaning that they added expressiveness to the painting so the viewer is able to notice the strength and speed in which the artist applied the paint & actually push's a piece from a painting to a three-dimensional sculptural rendering. You can see this in the linear shaped strokes to the left & right of her,the stars on her mantle & on the upper part of her dress. If you zoom in on the latter,you will see how the flowers are painted with graceful & very elegant strokes. Her mantle is painted a teal blue because to the native people, this was the color of the gods and of royalty.

THE CROSSBODY:
Completely put together by hand, Texas based Kurtmen Designs could not have paired this beautiful painting with anything more than perfect than their turquoise colored embossed Italian leather "DAMASK" leather, that also has the coppery/gold color in it! It was like they were waiting to be put together, like a perfect marriage of colors!
It's made in a small sized Western crossbody style, which personally I feel are one of the 'safest' style purses to carry like when or if you have kids & need you're hands/arms free, or when you're traveling or are just out shopping! They're great because you always know where your purse is at & is on your body at all times!
The flap is hand whip stitched & is done in a "bronzy colored metallic" leather which also pairs perfect with all the colors! When you lift the art flap, the purse has a zipper (for extra security) & has a cloth lined interior & has an interior zipper.
This cannot be replaced, since it's a "One of a Kind" piece of art, with no 2 the same.. This is my only one with this painting & with this type of leather.It is "Art & Kurtmen" at it's/their finest!!! This crossbody no doubt is something you'll be able to cherish a lifetime..

The frontal art 'flap' takes you to Dallas, where there's a cowboy on his horse & in the center of the purse is a Longhorn skull & various cactus plants as you head deep into southern Arizona where there's Mexican man wearing a Sombrero.serape over his shoulder, as he sits by a tall cactus plant. The flap is hand studded with bronze studs & is whip stitch along the border of the flap & then is all hand knotted with brightly colored yellow Italian leather fringe.
Lift the flap open & you have a zipped closure (For double safety) & then on the inside,it's all red cloth lined & has a 7" interior zipper .The strap is attached by a metal ring,so if you want to carry this as a clutch,all you do is open the ring that holds the strap. The strap is super long & actually if it's too long, you can take it to a shoe repair, where they can cut it down & then reattach to the ring that holds it.

The cross design has many given titles,but is mainly known as the “Isleta Cross”..Other names are, the "Pueblo Dragonfly" as well as the "Double Bar" cross..The Isleta Cross is a very old Pueblo design associated with the Isleta Pueblo, here in NM. The double-bar cross design is said to have originated with the Moors and Spaniards. But if you do your research,you'll find it also dates back to the lost “Mimbres” of southern NM who also used this symbol in their pottery in the early “AD” period..

Made in a box tote style of a blue/red supple Italian leather, where the front is made of 3 separated vertical panels of black leather that have 4 large bronze/brass conchos per panel that are sewn atop & then have cuts of real Nevada green turquoise that are held down tightly in the center. In between the panels are garlands of black metal ball chain that drape beautifully within the height of the purse. Painted with ultra gorgeous metallic golds, navy,reds & browns, Kurtmen chose to pair the art with an embossed "Cognac" Damask Italian leather that literally looks like they were made for each other!! The colors in the art are emphasized by the leather & vise versa!The Damask has a solid weight to it & has a durable feel .
It is made in a western style, where the perimeter is lined with hand whip stitched distressed brown Italian leather which helps to give it it's western edge.The panel is held down with 20 gold tone studs per side & has 3 interior pockets & one zipped compartment on the interior.This is a smaller size tote than what Kurtmen normally makes,where we wanted the art to show more on the frontside,rather than a lot of leather.

Made in a Mexican themed~western style tote, that is designed with a more urban feel of the iconic Guadalupe & has little faceted Swarovski crystals that act as her 'Glow"!!!
Outside of her gown,is a outline of 4.5 mm faceted citrine color & yellow/red crystals that sparkle all around her! The crystals coincide with the colors that she is wearing.

I personally own this style that I use practically everyday & what I personally love about this style,is the fact that it carry's quite a bit,but it is not so deep that you can't find what you need!! The front pocket is great for those easily accessible items you need to pull out in a flash! Its made of a durable leather & never weakens,no matter how much you load in it!! You also have interior zipped compartments for more organization.

This style reminds you of the old Dr.bags & this particular satchel is great when you need to carry a lot,being it has a good amount of storage,but is not so deep,you can't see or find anything..It has a beautiful display of tooled floral work on both sides,so it won't matter which side it is carried.What I personally love are the side pockets on both sides that are tooled with roses & finished off with whip stitching that is done by hand.The pockets are great for easy to grab things,like keys,cell phone,etc.! Called "Antique Red" & for obvious reasons,since it has a 'patinated',refinished sort of look,with the base being a red color & having like a black wash on top..This has to be one of the more attractive purses of all the beautiful ones I stock! It is neither too big,nor is is too small & yet,has a very dainty,feminine feel to it..The color is rich & red & is such a color you may want to pick your clothing, so it works around the purse!!
This is one of those purses that it won't matter what side shows,since both are equally gorgeous! What is considered the front, has the bottom portion tooled,with hand braiding that separates the untooled top portion.The top lays in a half-moon,half oval shape & the zipper follows this shape.The whole backside is tooled(see photos) The handles are precisely braided & thick.Fully lined in suede.Works for a day to night look..

Made in a deliciously bright vivid orange Italian Leather, where the "Buffalo Bill" flap is designed in a 'patchwork' style that has layers of leather that are held down by a festivity of hand stitched colors of yellow, green, magenta, purple & bright vivid blue turquoise! The perimeter of the flap is then whip stitched with the latter color!
The colorful flap lifts up & is reinforced with a panel of brown leather on the underside of the flap to help give weight to the flap.(See photos)
What is so great about this style purse is for the versatility it has, since it can be worn over the shoulder as a crossbody OR as a hand carried clutch by opening the rings at the bottom of the straps(See last photo) So you can use this while shopping,traveling to a evening out! Personally I feel, crossbody's are one of the 'safer' style purses & are wonderful for a few different reasons..1)because you always know where they're at & don't have to keep track of them like other purses.. 2) they're a great choice when you need your hands free while shopping (& carrying all those bags!),traveling or tending to children!
It is not a deep purse where you have to dig down deep just to find anything, but rather the 7-1/4” height allows you to find all the things you need in a hurry! It is cloth lined & comes with an inside zipper once the flap is lifted.
