ABOUT THE STONE:

Known for it’s distinct & simply incredible purple color,Charoite comes from only one place & that is Siberia, Russia.It is said to be on the ‘rare” side & is not only known for its swirling hues of deep royal purples,along with plays of lighter lavender colors,but its magnificent quartzy-opalescent-pearly characteristics,as well..It's no wonder that it's found it's way into artists hands throughout the SW jewelry industry & when you see it,you will know why!! It's truly an amazing looking stone!

THE PENDANT:

Putting the sole focus on the fabulous cut of Charoite,Leon gave this sort of a old school look with the sterling work he chose to display around it.It has the perfect balance between stone & metal,where each are showcased well.

Choosing the metals art form that surround the stone, are an ornate display of thick gauge swirls of twisted wire & star conchos that line in a graduated form at the top & the bottom, with a few added on the sides. These were made by melting the sterling into little beads & then hand pounding & forming them into shape so they can then be hand stamped.The latter is a very time consuming process,but this is the quality of workmanship you'll get with Leon & it's not only the great workmanship,but all the time it takes in order to give you truly hand made,top notch piece of jewelry!

This comes with a shepherds hook & is shown with a 9 mm bead which was the perfect size without opening the hook anymore..Personally,becuase of it's size,this would look great with a 22" to 26" strand of Navajo Pearls...I do want to mention that If you leave the hook at the opening it's at,I would suggest up to a 9 or a 10 mm bead size..If you want to use it with even a larger milimeter bead size,you would have to open the hook up more.(gently & with know how).(See my listings for Navajo Pearls)

Finished in a beautiful satin,vintage revival oxidized finishing.
