Like the roadrunner,the Thunderbird has always been associated with Navajo jewelry & the southwest..Bobby takes us back in time when he created this heavily hand stamped pin/pendant..The Thunderbird will always be around when it comes to Santa Fe style jewelry.
The bird is made with a thick,non-bendable gauge sterling, that is strong enough for Bobby to do all the stamp work.It is beautifully decorated with design on the wings & helps to highlight the large center, blue turquoise.The sterling has a oxidized finishing & gleams with beauty in the way he finished the sterling! It definitely has a 'Old School' look!!
Wear this as a pin on a more durable fabric,like a coat, wool hat,sweater,etc..I personally would not wear this on a delicate fabric, like silk. It has a small shepherds hook (see photos) & would be perfect as a pendant that is hooked to a smaller size chain or a small millimeter Navajo Pearl necklace.
