Designed by Federico himself, these almost comical looking “Kachina” figures are sure to put a smile on your face! They have a very comical, positive, happy vibe and are an excellent choice to wear anytime you need a positive lift to your day & definitely make for a great conversation starter when you’re out & about!

Except for its turquoise-beaded eyes and mouth, these pendants were designed using nothing but some of our industry’s most popular shells. These colorful, statuesque figures are assembled from a variety of chunky, sculptural cuts of super-vibrant orange Spiny Oyster shell and luminous Abalone.

The 5-5/8” tall figure is primarily composed of oval and round oyster cuts, while the taller 6.25” version features four distinct cuts of the oyster shell. It’s important to note that on both pieces these are not small, skimpy cuts, but rather substantial, oversized cuts that contribute to their impressive, mammoth presence. Both are designed with a little happy heart that lays atop of the body. The materials were thoughtfully arranged in an inventive layout to suggest body contours and the figures’ attire.

The 5-5/8” has an impressive full headdress that spans almost to the faces entirety and is designed with long linear cuts of luminescent Abalone .The headdress on the larger one, has 7 linear Abalone cuts with an added double row of round cuts for extra sparkle and detail.

USING AS A PIN OR A PENDANT:

Even though these are designed to be worn either as a pendant or as a pin, they are quite heavy, so if you choose to wear one as a pin it will likely perform best on a sturdier, heavier fabric. Personally, I would opt for the pendant option for greater comfort and security, but ultimately it’s your choice how you prefer to wear and style them.

I recently had 2 style “Bale Converters” made for us from 2 different Navajo artisans, that are used for these heavy pendants! And depending on how big the hole of the converter is, will determine what size beaded necklace or multi strand necklace you would use. If you zoom in on photos 5,14,15,29,30,31 you will see how it connects onto the shepherds hook.(I haven’t posted these yet, so if you need anymore info and or photos before they’re listed, just email me!) Personally, I believe this is the ultimate way to go these,

If you decide to opt out using a bale converter, you can wear these with just the shepherds hook connection that will hook onto your favorite sterling bead necklace. I want to note that the shepherds hook is about 3/8” wide, so the beads of the necklace will have to spread enough to hook over whatever the necklace is strung with.

From my professional opinion I think this size pendant looks great when dropped away from the neckline ,so what I would recommend would be a 24” and longer necklace to keep both in balance.
