DESCRIPTION:

We New Mexicans take great pride in our culture and in the meaningful symbols that define and represent us. So whether you’re a lifelong New Mexican or simply someone who loves everything about our state, you’ll wear with pride one of our most recognized symbols, the Isleta Pueblo “ZIA” cross.

Creatively designed from heavy-gauge, non-bendable 1/2" round wire, each wire was carefully measured and mathematically aligned before the artisan soldered every one so they sit tightly together. The result is a corrugated, dimensional texture that gives it a bold, structural presence.

Used as the central focal point for added color is a cut of Kazakhstan turquoise that embodies all the attributes we admire about this stone — the gorgeous periwinkle shades ranging from light to deep, paired with a rich, warm clay-colored matrix that gives it, it’s finger print identity.

The hand made bale is made of ½ round wire that’s shaped in a tear drop shape. The bale has about a 8 mm(3/8”) opening & so therefore you cannot use anything greater than a 8 mm diameter beaded necklace because you want the pendant to “move & breathe". (A simple sterling chain or a leather cord will also work!) Professionally speaking, we think a pendant of this size works & looks best on no more than a 18” necklace. But that’s totally your call!
