I really don't even know where to begin with the magnitude of this necklace, since everything about it leaves me speechless & all of it's attributes equal in caliber!
Each & everything thing about this necklace is on the extremely GENEROUS side, from the size of each cut of turquoise, to the size of the pearls (where both dictate the size & shape of each panel) to the massive amount of sterling it's made with! All the turquoise featured in these pieces originates from the renowned "Larry Cooley turquoise collection," and what Larry was famously known for was possessing the FINEST collection of turquoise stones, all of which were mined long before the practice of treating turquoise became common. He consistently kept on hand nothing but the highest quality, gem-grade NATURAL turquoise. When Larry passed away several years ago, there was intense interest from collectors and jewelers eager to acquire his entire collection. However, thanks to Federico's close connection to Larry, Larry's family chose to offer Federico the privilege of purchasing this AMAZING collection. Yes, the price was exceptionally high—over the top, in fact—but it was absolutely worth every dollar. It is made with a 'sampler' selection that comes from 3 Nevada mines, which are green Royston, rare teal color Blue Gem & Pilot Mountain turquoise. Each cut holds some serious carat weight since each cut is literally huge & goes for top dollar per carat (that is, if you can find this quality & size)
Each cut is then framed by a halo cluster of the most beautiful white baroque pearls that come in their natural form, so each vary in shape. These are what give it it's feminine aesthetic. The material is bezel set atop of heavy gauge sterling & has a contemporary finishing.
