I have proudly carried Federico’s exceptional jewelry for many years now, and just when I thought I had seen every possible stunning creation he could imagine, yet another breathtaking piece comes along that leaves me utterly speechless and awed beyond words. Yes, I too still find myself completely stunned and deeply inspired by the intricacy and thoughtfulness of each and every design, and I feel truly and humbly honored to represent the finest, most exquisite jewelry that proudly bears his remarkable and distinguished name.
Honestly speaking, Federico’s exquisite and innovative designs always seem to possess a truly remarkable ability to steal the spotlight, effortlessly directing attention onto you while simultaneously making you feel as though you're the only person in the room who truly exists in that moment. His stunning, meticulously designed pieces have the power to evoke a profound sense of empowerment and undeniable confidence, leaving you feeling not only incredibly beautiful but also fully in control of your personal story. THE NECKLACE:
A necklace of this magnitude needs no introduction, since it truly speaks for itself. Designed in a 21-panel Cleopatra theme, this striking masterpiece is designed from all-natural, gem-quality high-grade cuts of Sleeping Beauty turquoise that came from the late Larry Cooley’s personal collection — a rare and remarkable assemblage (see the “About the Artist” category to learn more about the extraordinary collection Larry had collected). Since that Arizona mine closed some years ago, this level of quality is no longer available without commanding top dollar, which is reflected in the price.
It's beyond impressive the way this was designed, especially when you look at ALL that cluster work that went into it. When you notice the size of each and every one of those little round cabochons, you have to imagine how many painstaking hours, weeks, even months it took to bring a piece like this to completion. Each stone was hand‑picked for color and size so that every panel matches precisely, ensuring the necklace lays flawlessly along the neckline the way a well‑made necklace should. The result is a very uniform design where balance and form are truly impeccable.
Excluding the large centerpiece, there are 10 panels per side, arranged with five triple-cluster panels measuring 3-1/8” long, two double-tier cluster panels measuring 1-7/8” long, and three smaller double-tier cluster panels measuring 1-5/8” long that guide you toward the closure (see photo 12). The closure is a signature Federico design: when you press down on the three Sleeping Beauty cabochons, the clasp releases and opens. When closed, those cabs blend seamlessly into and complete the overall design. (See photos 21,22,23}
Contributing to its just shy of 1 POUND weight is the amount of sterling silver that each stone is set upon. That heavier weight may alarm some at first, but the thoughtful design is what creates its surprising comfort — as I mentioned earlier, the way it’s constructed allows it to lay flawlessly and wear very comfortably.
