Entirely made by hand — from forming the circular sterling body to the architecturally designed ear mechanism — these carefully considered attributes help raise the bar and clearly separate them from your typical, mass-produced sterling hoop earring.

These earrings are thoughtfully designed with a non-traditional, contemporary aesthetic — and although Federico is often recognized as a ‘southwestern’ designer, these earrings will work beautifully no matter where you live, without making you feel obliged to pair them with other southwestern items. They’ll stand out against virtually any color palette, but especially with black. Another advantage is their versatility.. You can wear them with other contemporary all-sterling jewelry or pair them with a collection of colored stones for a bolder, mixed look.

I do want to mention that if you have tender ears & can’t tolerate any sort of weight on the ear, then these may be too weighty for you.(See weights below) Each earring weighs close to 1 ounce so they have a substantial weight to them.. Only you know what feels comfortable on your own lobes, so a good approach is to take one of your own earrings that’s nearly at the limit of comfort, weigh it, and compare that weight to this pair.. But if you do have “veteran” ears, they are definitely worth tolerating the weight!

Unfortunately Federico has had to raise his prices since the price of sterling (& gold) has gone up and fluctuates on a daily basis. Many pieces have more than doubled in price because of this. Between the price that metal is costing artists, plus the rising cost for materials, there was no other choice but to increase everything.

The pricing is dictated also by Federico’s name and his decades old reputation in the industry. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for the time and expertise required to make the earrings for Federico. These are just some of the elements that together explain and contribute to the higher final price of these earrings
