I personally gravitated toward these earrings for a few reasons..Not only for the deep, dark, rich color of the premium grade lapis, but also because I immediately noticed the obvious time and love that went into making them, where you see the unmistakable, over-the-top precision and impeccable workmanship that are evident in every little detail. Made in a three-tier contemporary design that features a distinctive four-corner shaped center on the second tier. The rectangular cuts in this section play a key role in the overall aesthetic. They’re executed using only 5 mm round cuts and two sizes of rectangular “tile” cuts of lapis, yet these two shaped cuts communicate everything the design needs. The design is finished with five dangles that form a “V” shape. Set in a contemporary, mirror-polished sterling silver, each stone sits low in a high bezel for a sleek, secure presentation.

Even though we often associate Federico with the Southwest, these earrings can be worn anywhere in the world thanks to their contemporary, polished vibe. Not only has Federico’s prices increased, but the cost of what artists are now having to pay per gram, per ounce for sterling, since sterling & gold have reached an all time high, but also what materials are now costing per carat weight for materials! (Sterling-Shell-Stone) And we all know that depending on the item, Federico as a rule doesn’t use little skimpy stones & the bigger they are, the more they cost. The higher the grade, the more they cost! Everyone is having to charge more because of this, which is being passed on to me & then unfortunately passed onto you. It’s factors such as this, that are reflected in the price for these.

Also factored into the price for these, is the artist’s reputable & long standing name in the industry, his reputation and years in the business, the number of carats and the cost per carat for the materials used.. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for their time and expertise required to create these.
