ABOUT HAPPY PIASSO:

Born in 1972 in the small town of Socorro, New Mexico, Happy spent her formative years growing up in the nearby community of Alamo, New Mexico. Over the years, she has dedicated herself to the art of jewelry-making for roughly half of her life. Happy learned the intricate and traditional art of silversmithing under the guidance of her husband, Rudy Willie, with whom she collaborates closely on various jewelry designs. Rudy is a respected member of the well-known "Willie Family," a lineage rich in artistic talent, with "Ronnie Willie" being just one of his many brothers and numerous siblings, along with countless nephews and nieces who also excel as artisans. Notable names in this talented family include Dakota, Cooper, and Tawney Willie, to mention just a few. Happy is a devoted artist who consistently honors the legacy of traditional ‘Old School’ Navajo jewelry and remains deeply committed to preserving this important art form, a cherished heritage that has been passed down from their Navajo ancestors through the generations..

THE TURQUOISE:

Riviera turquoise is a relatively new mine to the industry, so there’s not a whole lot of info as of yet. I do know that it comes from Mexico & personally speaking, it has a color that is very similar to what comes out of our southern Arizona mines. At quick glance, one might think it could possibly be Castle Dome or maybe even a higher grade Kingman.. I’m truly impressed with the colors I’m seeing & these particular cuts have a gorgeous, vivid color & if you’re familiar with any Mexican turquoise, I would say it looks like Sonoran Rose.

THE RING:
Both of these rings are made the same way, the only difference is the ring size between the 2 & the size of the turquoise cuts ,as well as their character traits. Surrounding these ultra gorgeous blue cuts are a halo of “Star Conchos’ that were made where Happy melted the sterling into little beads & then one by one, soldering them precisely around the stone,so they look like a garland of little stars! This hand made technique is definitely something that needs to be appreciated..

The face sits atop of a 1/4” wide corrugated sterling band. The underside & shank have a contemporary mirror polish finishing, where as deep within the crevices of the conchos, is left oxidized for contrast.

Perfect for the woman who loves it simple & loves her jewelry to be more 'understated'.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:
*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color. Please understand that all screen monitors are different, so the materials can look brighter (or duller) ,more intense or less intense from one computer/phone to the next.

In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the detail, can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified & exaggerated than in actuality. So to get an accurate idea of how big the ring is, please either check it out on the finger to get a rough idea (photos) or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements.
