BELT'S PROVENANCE:
This belt was purchased in Santa Fe many years ago from a collector who had a curated collection of nothing but the finest southwest/Native American jewelry.She barely wore it but a couple of times until her unfortunate passing. The belt was protected & kept in a concho belt cotton sleeve all the while,so it's literally like brand new! (Sleeve is included)

THE CONCHO BELT:
This is made with colorful abalone shell that is just so beautiful with movement because of all it's "play of color-diffraction of light"qualities!! What's so wonderful about it,is you can turn the shell one way & you get these vibrant chartreuse colors,then with different movement & light,you'll see yellow/oranges,then you get these magnificent & ultra beautiful blue violet/periwinkle colors!! This is why this wondrous shell can be used with just about any color semi-precious-precious gemstone & no designer knows how to bring out the beauty of abalone & take it to such a sophisticated level,than what you''ll find with this designer! Very uniform in size are tear drop cuts of abalone with a round center cut, that make up the floral pattern & in between each cut, are these heavenly-royal purple trillion cuts of Amethyst that act as a halo.The buckle is the only one with both round & trillion cuts of amethyst.The color of the amethyst are also well matched in size & color & personally,the amethyst make the shell pop in color & vise-versa!

It's made in a 47" long "link" style belt that comes with 20 evenly matched conchos & the buckle.There is heavy gauge "O" rings that connect each concho that make this adjustable, since you can put the hook into any one of those rings.Unlike leather concho belts,the pros about wearing link concho belts, is for the fact that if you lose or gain weight,you can still wear the belt based on the adjustability,whereas with the leather ones you have more limitations for these situations.

The material is set in a generous amount of sterling,so it's pretty hefty in weight,weighing in at just over 1 lb-1/2!! Having worked with Federico now for many years,this is almost his signature style & I know for a fact,he doesn't hold back on materials! He definitely gives you your money's worth!

The look is untraditional southwest & has contemporary edginess,so this will look great whether you live in the heart of some metro-cosmopolitan city or whether you live in the country!! This can also double as a necklace!!(See photos 9 & 10)
