Federico Jimenez-Heirloom Quality / Collectible - Gem Quality Turquoise Cluster Sterling Wood Hand Mirror-Mirror for Hairdressers, Estheticians, Make Up Artists, Jewelry Gallery Owners, Opticians!

$11,000.00

"To hold a beautiful mirror is to remind oneself that elegance exists on both sides of the glass."

A LITTLE ABOUT THE TURQUOISE PROVENANCE:

This mirror is designed with some of the “rarest-hard to find” cuts that came from the renowned Larry Cooley collection. Larry was one of the industry’s most favorable turquoise vendors, so when artists like Federico needed top notch stones for their own designs, this was the vendor everyone would buy from.

When Larry passed away awhile back, Federico had the unique opportunity to purchase Larry’s entire collection, which Larry had been carefully assembling and refining over several decades. Turquoise connoisseurs, designers, vendors, lapidarians—you name it—everyone fiercely coveted his collection. However, thanks to Federico’s close, longstanding relationship with Larry and his family, he was able to acquire the entire collection, albeit at a considerable price. This high cost reflects the superior quality of Larry’s turquoise and the unfortunate reality that most of the mines where this turquoise originated are now depleted.

Larry was known for carrying only THE best turquoise, characterized by the turquoise’s exceptional hardness—a key indicator of “quality” in turquoise—meaning his stones did not require any treatments to make them ‘harder’ in order for the lapidarian to cut them.. Nowadays, some of the rarest turquoise cuts he owned simply can’t be found on the market, and when or if they do appear, they command extraordinarily high prices per carat. So when this turquoise supply is finally used up, it will truly be gone forever. Each and every item designed with his turquoise is literally “One of a Kind,” since these stones cannot be replaced & are from a limited stock, which makes each piece a singular treasure with history, provenance, and unmatched natural beauty.

THE HAND MIRROR

To be honest, It is a true honor to bring to you a mirror such as this & it’s not everyday I come across one as top notch or exquisite as this!!

This isn’t just any turquoise mirror, but one of the finest you’ll ever see & or own. The mirror is literally filled with nothing but premium, gem-grade cuts of turquoise—top-notch stones that came from none other than the late Larry Cooley’s renowned turquoise collection.

Used in the design are exceptionally high-grade cuts of decades-old, hard-to-find and highly valuable Blue Gem turquoise, along with some phenomenal blue and green top-grade Royston (you’ll mostly notice these in the triangular cuts). Many of the remaining stones appear to be fine-grade Sonoran and Kingman turquoise. If you look closely, the cuts are not simply arranged in a loose cluster; there is a deliberate, precise pattern to how and where each cut is set & their shape was an important factor in picking each cut. These cabochons are large—indeed, somewhat quite substantial—so each carries significant carat weight. If you could still source this combination of quality and size today, the stones would command a high price per carat. Such qualities are increasingly rare, especially since the Blue Gem mine has been closed for many years and much of its material resides now in collectors’ holdings. The result is a striking, heirloom-quality mirror that marries meticulous workmanship with exceptional, museum-worthy turquoise.

All the cuts sit on a thick gauge sheet of sterling that was carefully cut to follow the contours of the wood. If you zoom in on the photos you’ll notice the sterling is hand-stamped just outside the mirror and again along the outer perimeter (see close-up photos). The substantial pine wood frame is meticulously cut and shaped entirely by hand, and the mirror is held securely in place with screwed-in hardware (see backside photos). I want to mention that if you want to securely hang this when not in use, you can get a small strip of leather & 2 screws & attach it at the top of the backside.(This is a service I do not offer)

For you makeup artists, jewelry gallery owners (especially in the Southwest!), estheticians, hairdressers, opticians, and barbers, this will not only showcase your higher-tier success to customers but will also speak volumes about your exquisite tastes, since this is one of Federico’s finest pieces offered & you can only find it here at "Plata de Santa Fe Jewelry"! Trust me, you’ll be the envy of colleagues and clients alike by owning a one-of-a-kind mirror adorned with some of the highest-quality turquoise available. Just imagine it on display—who else do you know who can show off a mirror of this caliber in their business or home? The answer is: You got it! “NONE”!

This is a one of a kind mirror & you will be the only one that’ll own a mirror with this type of non replaceable turquoise! A NOTE:*** Anything you buy that came from Larry’s collection, will always come with a higher price tag, due to the rarity, availability & limited stock.***

To give you close up photos, pictures tend to make the item look GIGANTIC & everything is more magnified than in actuality.
