Top-tier/High End Santa Fe jewelry doesn’t get any more gorgeous or elegant than this exquisitely designed concho belt! And I think Federico really outdid himself with this absolutely STUNNING belt! It’s a true showstopper belt that needs no introduction or elaborate description, because its beauty and timeless presence speaks for itself. This belt is definitely a conversational piece that will definitely have them talking the minute you step your foot out or into any door! This one might just leave you feeling like absolute royalty!

If you love the timeless beauty of pearls as we do, (As well as Federico!) and especially when they’re artfully paired with some top notch turquoise, you'll appreciate the unique elegance of that combination! The pearls take this to new heights with their upscale sophistication, and when you add Sleeping Beauty turquoise to the design, they’re the elements that raise the level up a few more notches!

THE BELT:

It's made in a 51" long "link" style belt that is adjustable. Unlike leather concho belts, the pros about wearing link concho belts is for the fact that if you lose or gain weight, you can still wear the belt based on the adjustability, whereas with the leather ones you have more limitations for these situations. I personally love link belts for this reason, since you don’t need to change anything out!

Owning a contemporary southwestern vibe, the design pattern is continuous throughout, where it’s made with this huge 4” round center concho that has a faceted (& very luminous!!) cut of Mother of Pearl in the very center and then follows with a double halo of irregular shaped-chunky size baroque pearls. Tiny pearls alternate between the interior layer baroques, whereas on the exterior halo, Sleeping beauty turquoise alternates between the baroques.

Connecting one ‘concho/panel’ to the next are "O" rings that connect each concho/panel that make this adjustable, since you can put the hook into any one of those rings! There are 8 large (But smaller than the center) conchos that measure 2-3/4” round each & unlike the center, these have a floral pearl design in the center & then has an outer halo of pearls that alternates with the turquoise on the exterior.

What would be considered the “Butterfly” on traditional concho belts, this is made with an untraditional design that’s made up of 9 smaller size “cross’ pattern panels that are designed with 4 pearls that form a cross & 5 turquoise cabochons.(see photos)

Although the pearls & turquoise are lighter in weight, this is made with an extremely generous amount of sterling, so this is a very weighty piece!! It weighs just over 1 AND 3/4 POUNDS! (818 GRAMS!)

A PERSONAL NOTE:‍ ‍Depending on your waist/hip size, what you can do if this is too long & you don’t want want all the excess hanging, you can either have a reputable jeweler take out some of the conchos (Possibly make other pieces of jewelry, etc.) and then reconnect it, but I suggest you may want to leave enough length that you’re comfortable with in the future & just adjust it or I can send it off to Federico to have them do it. The cost however to do the latter I would have to collect before purchasing. It would be your responsibility to pay for any expenses, plus the shipping there & the shipping back.(I would think there might be around a 2-4 week turnaround?)

Not only has Federico’s prices increased, but the cost of what artists are now having to pay for sterling and materials have gone up in price as well.. Factored into the price for this, is Federico’s name and his decades old reputation in the industry, the quality of the pearls and turquoise, the number of carats and the cost per carat, as well as the over 1-3/4 POUNDS of sterling that it took to make.. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for the time and expertise required to make this belt for Federico. These are just some of the elements that together explain and contribute to the higher final price of this belt.
