TURQUOISE PROVENANCE:
The turquoise used here comes from the late Larry Cooley’s 1950s–’60s mined turquoise collection. Larry was widely regarded in the industry as the “go-to” turquoise guy, known for having one of the largest, highest-quality, most incredible collections of premium turquoise available. When designers like Federico came looking for stones, they could rely on Larry’s inventory for their own jewelry creations. These gems were mined before the widespread use of treatments and before many turquoise mines closed, so they remain naturally occurring; and because Larry knew turquoise intimately, he collected nothing less than the very best.

After Larry's passing, Federico was fortunate enough to receive Larry's remarkable collection and skillfully incorporate those stones into some of the most beautifully and uniquely designed pieces you'll ever see. Larry had one of the biggest reputations for his turquoise, and all you had to do in this industry was say the name "Larry Cooley Turquoise" — that alone spoke volumes about his skill, legacy, and unmistakable style.

THE NECKLACE:

This is another statement style runway showpiece by Federico that is “drop to your knees” GORGEOUS!!! It’s a “Turquoise Lover’s” Dream! For those of you who aren’t familiar with Federico, he is internationally known for his “Over the Top, bold styles that you just won’t get with any other designer! !

It is designed in a heavily cluster layout & is designed with approximately 158 natural,un-treated stones set in a 47 panel layout..(Can you imagine the time & love it takes to set all these??) The stones come from practically has every mine of turquoise there is in America, & because of all the different tonality’s, gives incredible contrasts throughout! This is the beauty of “Sampler” turquoise pieces is the fact that you get a little of this & a little of that,without having a matching uniform color..The stones look to be mostly from Nevada mines which are known for their blues & greens & brown matrix patterns..There’s Blue Gem in there,lots of both blue & green Royston,plus so much more! If you know these particular mines,then you will know the intense colors they produce! There is also a mesmerizing huge chunk of Blue Gem that acts as the closure!The ‘overall’ tone of the neckace is Aqua..

Its impressive how this lays so well in “Form”,being that it’s made with all non-calibrated,mismatched sized stones! Nowhere does it lose it’s form & follows up the neckline with fluidity.. It’s one of those necklaces that “ooze’s” quality & feels SO good on the skin & lays like a good necklace should! You will turn many a head with this one!!
