SALE!! Federico Jimenez- Hand Carved Mint Green "Carico Lake" Turquoise- Mosaic Inlaid 15 Panel Butterfly Necklace- 20"- LAPIDARY WORK OF ART!

Sale Price:$2,975.00 Original Price:$4,000.00

How does one become a butterfly? You have to want to learn to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar. -Unknown

THE NECKLACE:

Federico takes "Lapidary Art" to a whole new level of beauty with this necklace! It's made in a 15 panel design that is completely made by hand & it's the type of work that you have to have years behind you to do,being that one has to be skilled in cutting stone!

Each butterfly is made with a gorgeous minty color of Carico Lake turquoise, where the wings started out from a larger slab of rock & then one by one are chiseled & smoothed & then beautifully beveled,so they can then sit perfectly in their own bezel. You figure that any slip in size while cutting, can destroy it's uniformity,so they have to be cut precisely so the design doesn't lose balance or form anywhere in the necklace & there's an evenness in size throughout. This is validated in it's entirety..

The abdomen, eyes & the antennas are designed in a Zuni Pueblo style of inlay, where they are mosaic inlaid with Carico Lake turquoise,Orange Spiny Oyster shell & black Onyx. The way the orange pulls from the green or vise versa, really makes the design pop with each color accentuating the other!

Besides the appreciation I have for the workmanship & beauty, what I find very impressive is the closure! Check out the last 2 photos where one of the panels is the whole Butterfly when closed, but when the clasp is opened, you have 1/2 of the butterflies wings on one end, while the other portion is the body & the wings! Very clever!!

This is what would be considered "Fine" southwestern jewelry that has a contemporary edginess & can be beautifully worn in or out of the southwest!

**SALE FOR THE NECKLACE ONLY**

I have the full suite that consists of a ring, earrings, link bracelet, cuff bracelet & this necklace. (See photo 3) If you're interested in the full package, please email me! I would assume one would want 1 of the 2 bracelets, but if you want both, that's okay too! You can change it up! Keep checking back in my listings to see them! I also have 3 necklaces just like this in a larger 5 panel with matching earrings that comes in Carico Lake,Sleeping Beauty Turquoise & Spiny Oyster Shell. The necklaces are under ’Necklaces” & the their matching earrings are under “Earrings 3”

Please Note:

*****I do want to mention that when photographing anything with yellow in it, (Orange, greens for example) the photos can make the orange come up seriously vibrant & being that I do try my best at giving you an accurate color that's not deceiving, so I do have to bring the saturation "down" with orange.
