ABOUT LARRY COOLEY'S TURQUOISE COLLECTION:
The turquoise that this is made with, came from the late "Larry Cooley's" private collection. Mr. Cooley was one of the most reputably known turquoise vendors in the industry, who artists would go to when they wanted the highest quality turquoise for their own designs.. Since he was very knowledgeable, he knew what separated the junk from the premium grades & was committed to offering only the finest that each mine produced. He was one who wouldn't dare offer turquoise to someone, that he himself, wouldn't want. He was all about the best there was..

The turquoise he collected & sold, were qualities that only "Turquoise Connoisseur's" would buy.. He had a vast collection of nothing BUT premium turquoise that were all natural, since his rocks were mined long before they started treating turquoise .

These cuts are an excellent grade of natural turquoise, which is getting more & more difficult to find anymore, unless you're willing to pay top dollar per carat. That is if you can find any, since much has gone into private collectors hands & have become very valuable... After Larry's passing, everyone wanted dibs on his whole collection, but because of Federico's long time connection with Larry & Larry's family, he was fortunate to purchase this 'once in a lifetime' limited & very pricy collection(This is reflected in price) So once these stones are used up, they're gone!

THE NECKLACE:
Nothing spells out "Elegance" better than when you pair gorgeous looking cuts of turquoise that are paired with Pearls! With this combo, it takes southwestern jewelry quite a few notches up & oozes a more glamorous & ultra feminine feel to the piece.

Not only does this have a generous amount of carat weight of nothing but premium natural Morenci turquoise,but sharing the spotlight with each cut of turquoise, sits a coin pearl accent..What I find unique & just love about this design, is how it depicts the necklace as if it was made of 2 strands, one as if it has a longer strand of turquoise & the other, like a shorter strand of pearls that lay on the interior.But if you look at photo 23 & 24,you'll see on the backside, that the pearl sits on the same platform as the turquoise.

Being that Morenci was one of THE biggest copper mines in the USA, you even have cuts where a metallic looking copper is within the cuts! (View all photos, but especially photos 9,10,11) I learned years ago that when you get those bits of copper makes the turquoise much more rare & valuable.
