SPECTACULAR CHARACTER!-Federico Jimenez-Tear Drop/Pear Cut-Blue Green AZURITE Contemporary Sterling Necklace-Adjustable 26"

$2,500.00

A PERSONAL WORD ABOUT AZURITE:

If you want to witness one of the most precious gifts from our planet, you're in for a truly spectacular and unforgettable treat. Considered a real rock lover's dream, azurite is one of the most phenomenal and sought-after minerals out there. Its name comes from its striking, deep azure-blue color, which people sometimes mistake for lapis—especially when the specimen lacks the green malachite with which it so frequently occurs.

If you live and breathe color like I do—or are even a painter—you won’t be able to resist drooling over the spectrum within this mineral! The color is absolutely electrifying: one of the most intensely vibrant, regal peacock-cobalt blues imaginable! The hues and natural character are simply unbelievable!

It’s no wonder Azurite was prized as far back as ancient Egyptian times and enjoyed renewed popularity during the Mexican Silver Renaissance boom of the 30’s-40’s..But thank God, there’s artists like Federico who step out beyond the ‘traditional’ southwestern box of Turquoise, Coral, and Spiny Oyster, recognizing and celebrating the beauty in every stone.

NECKLACE:

Sometimes an artist must take a supporting role and acknowledge that nature can be difficult to surpass. When you possess something as striking as azurite, the sterling silver work should remain restrained so it accentuates and enhances the stone’s innate beauty, keeping the viewer’s attention where it rightly belongs — on the stone itself.

One thing that's impossible to ignore is the incredible character these stones possess. This necklace truly has it all — vivid color, striking character, and the signature depth that makes Azurite so remarkable. Each cut was carefully chosen to showcase the full range of texture, hue, and brilliance this amazing stone has to offer.

Elegantly designed in a day or night time look, this is entirely made with teardrop-shaped cuts that not only trace the neckline but also fill the central pendant. If you look closely at the neckline, every pointed cut is oriented outward, which enhances its visual impact and creates a wonderful radiance. In contrast, the cuts in the center drop are arranged both vertically and horizontally, adding depth and a more intricate, dimensional texture.

There is 2-1/2” of extender chain per side, so you can wear this at its full 26” length (including the center drop) or at its shortest length of 19-3/4” (also measured with the center drop). The hook closure can be fastened into any chain link to adjust the fit. If you prefer the piece to sit higher on the neck for greater visibility, any reputable jeweler can shorten the chain, remove some of the back cuts, and then reconnect the closure for a cleaner, elevated look. If you choose that route, those removed cuts can be repurposed into matching earrings or even a ring. That decision is entirely yours, but keep in mind you would need to have that work done by a jeweler. Each stone is set in a contemporary sterling finish & are connected by heavy gauge “O” rings for security.

Wear this with any azurite pieces you may own; or because its color is so close to—and often resembles—lapis that it pairs beautifully with lapis jewelry as well. (If you’re looking to do a ‘set’, I unfortunately have no all Azurite earrings in at the moment, but you can look at the Lapis earrings we have in stock! ) Other styling suggestions include pairing it with all-sterling pieces or with malachite, which commonly occurs alongside azurite.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:

I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try my hardest to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color. I photographed this in front of 3 different colored back drops, all giving a different feel. So please zoom in on all of the photos to get an idea. But please realize that all monitors are different, so the materials can look more vivid (or duller) from one computer to the next.

To give you close up photos, so it’s best to look at the mannequin photos to get an accurate idea of how big this is and how long it lays on the body... Or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements since pictures can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality.
