RARE 1930's Ecuadorian -Double "1928 Un Sucre" Coins-With Green Glass Filigree Tops-Dangle Silver Earrings -5"!

Sale Price:$595.00 Original Price:$695.00

These were apart of a collection by one of Santa Fe's most highly recognized Folk Art collectors.(Who is literally a walking history book!) These very old Ecuadorian earrings aren't the easiest to find & are not readily available like you'd find when looking for jewelry from other parts of the Americas. So I was lucky to have got my hands on ones this old!

These were made in the 1930's & you can literally see the historical & very 'primitive-raw' factor of how they were made & especially when you put them back to back to jewelry that's being made today, where tools have gotten much more advanced. But personally, this is what gives them their vintage presence & charm!

Anchored from a filigree top with a emerald color cut of glass, are a double tier drop of 2-"1928 Un Sucre" coins, which helps in dictating their lengthy 5" long length. Each tier is then connected by a "Figure 8" wire form. What I love is the unique hand made serrated bezel that holds the glass in & the tear drop dangles... True raw beauty!

They are totally made of coin silver (Including the coins!) which is what you WANT from vintage Ecuadorian jewelry, since this was all they had to work with back then, being that their jewelry was made by melting coins down...If these were made of sterling, this would only validate them to be newer.

I do want to mention that the ear wires are made of a thicker gauge wire, unlike the normal wires,so if your ear holes are smaller, these may too big & make it harder to get in.They have a natural patina, which will be left.
