ABOUT THE ARTIST:
In comparison to some 'veteran' Navajo metalsmith's, Geneva is a relatively young silversmith who learned the art of metalsmithing from her mother "Genevieve Apachito'..She is a New Mexico native who comes from Socorro,NM & calls the town of Alamo,NM her home. Regardless of age or how long she has been creating jewelry,it’s the fact of how easy it comes to her, which is obvious in everything she makes.
THE EARRINGS:
Making this type of work look all too easy, it isn't,,It's a tedious & time consuming process, where each of these beads were hand melted one by one & then placed atop of sheet sterling that has a oxidized finishing.. The backside of the earrings have a contemporary mirror polished finishing.
These can be paired with oxidized OR contemporary finished jewelry and or Pearl jewelry! They also are the perfect compliment to pair with Navajo Pearl necklaces!
