ABOUT THE ARTIST:

To truly appreciate the remarkable work of Veronica Poblano, it helps to understand a bit about her rich legendary bloodlines and the journey that has brought her to the esteemed position she holds today. First of all, not everyone can say they are the daughter to 2 of the greatest mosaic Zuni artists to have ever lived, as Veronica is the daughter of the legendary Leo Poblano, and her mother being Ida Poblano (Vacit) ,who not only collaborated closely with Leo, but she also worked alongside the renowned artist Lambert Homer. This deep artistic heritage has undoubtedly help to shape Veronica’s unique style and dedication to the jewelry she designs.

Being a jeweler herself for at least half of her life, Veronica has proudly earned numerous first-place awards, which have been bestowed upon her by some of our nation’s most esteemed and highly juried events. For example, she was one of only five Native women who were honored at the prestigious “National Museum of the American Indian” (NMAI) where she was given one of the highest and most distinguished awards that one can receive in this field & is not the easiest to get.. Additionally, she was recognized as an honored designer by the renowned “Smithsonian Museum of the Native American Indian”, further highlighting her exceptional contributions and talent in Native American art and jewelry design. She continues to receive such recognition to this day, where judges consistently cannot help but honor and admire the skill and beauty of her work.

Veronica works in both gold and sterling silver, using nothing but the finest, highest-quality stones known to the Southwest region. She elevates her artistry further by incorporating beautifully faceted gemstones as well. As an artist without limitations, her creations range from deeply traditional designs to strikingly contemporary pieces—sometimes blending both styles seamlessly. Her work is celebrated for its clean lines and precise workmanship.

Veronica resides at the Zuni Pueblo with her family, who are now proudly following in the footsteps of their grandfather, grandmother, and mother. Together, they have built a lasting legacy and have firmly established their own distinguished names in the jewelry industry.

Anyone person whose seriously involved in this business knows how much the price of Coral has climbed to & has gotten so ridiculously expensive, which makes it unaffordable for many artists to even consider buying. The cost of "GOOD" Coral has skyrocketed in price & compared to just a bit ago when it was at about $250 a gram, it is now well over $1000 a gram for the premium qualities.(As what’s in these) Coral is now on the "Rare" list & no longer can it be fished, nor brought in the USA. (These reasons are reflected in the price) Everyday the price goes up & the less availability, the higher the price will go! Coral has become a collectible material for these reasons mentioned.

Artist, Coral quality, cost per carat, amount of carats, coral availability, sterling cost & artisans time are reflected in price

*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try my hardest to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color as much as I can. Each monitor varies and also plays a role in how vibrant or less vibrant as something appears. If you need more photos, please let me know!

To give you close up photos, pictures tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality. So to get an accurate idea of how big these are, please pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements above.( My apologies, but I always show how earrings look on,so if you need a photo before I can get one, please let me know!!
