A WORD:

For those who follow Taxco Mexican jewelry produced during the Mexican Silver Renaissance period— particularly pieces made in the 1930s through the 1950s, then this ICONIC design will look familiar to you. In that era, the style was not only associated with Los Castillo but was also produced by another Taxco designer, such as Hector Aguilar, making it a widely recognized and celebrated design of the period. I personally believe, (and I know Federico would agree) that there was nothing more than mesmerizingly drop dead gorgeous than the beautifully made jewelry that was made in Taxco & during this time. It was architectural, classic & will go down in history as being some of the finest jewelry ever made.

Seeing firsthand, Federico truly has one of the very best collections of vintage Taxco jewelry I believe I have ever witnessed.(And being a collector myself for more than 50 + years, there’s not much I haven’t witnessed!) He is a huge collector of pieces produced during that era, as well as remarkable work from other regions of Mexico made at the same time. His passion runs deep, and to honor those exceptional designs, he recreated this pastiche timeless piece with great honor, deep reverence, and respectful attention to its original spirit.

THE LINK-PANEL BRACELET:

Federico honored this legendary 1940s classic bracelet as a respectful pastiche of the iconic Los Castillo workshop, thoughtfully keeping the design alive for not only new collectors, but veteran collectors as well.

Designed in a 14-panel link bracelet, this piece is made from thick, non-bendable heavy-gauge sterling, giving it substantial weight and durability. Each 1-5/8” wide panel is uniform and consistent throughout the bracelet, without variation from link to link. It carries that signature 1940s Taxco look, evident in the “hand-chased” lines in the sterling that impart the period’s distinctive aesthetic. The curved, scalloped perimeter helps soften the overall appearance, and the panels are finished with a slight overlapping effect that enhances the bracelet’s vintage-inspired presence.

Perfectly lining the center, are evenly matched tear drop/pear cuts of Amethyst that are perfectly placed for an impeccable look. This bracelet carries a satisfying, substantial weight (Over 5 ounces!)that sure isn’t flimsy, nor is it a cheap feeling bracelet, but rather one that is well-made, durable and one that will stand the test of time..

Would be a great addition to any Mexican vintage jewelry collection & especially when you have some some of the best amethyst pieces made in Taxco during this time period!

SIZING:

Made for a average to larger wrist and although the bracelet measures 8", your wrist doesn’t need to be that exact size, since link bracelets are designed to fit a bit loosely & fit differently than say a cuff would.

Link bracelets (and bangles) generally don’t sit directly on the wrist, so depending on how long the link bracelet is & how small or big your wrist/hand are, they generally sit at the top of the hand or somewhere thereabouts. What you don’t want, is the bracelet to be so big that it wants to slip off the hand & fall to the floor! The best thing to do if you have one on hand, is take a link bracelet of yours & measure it out & then compare the length to my length.

PLEASE NOTE ABOUT SIZING:

If you have a small wrist, this can easily be shortened to accommodate your wrist size. You figure each panel is about 1” in height, (Not the 1-5/8” width) so say if you would want this to fit a 6” wrist, then my guess is by removing at least 2 links can be removed. If you need somewhere around a 7” length, then 1 panel would be removed, & so on & so on.. I would have to know what length you need before proceeding. You would pay for the shipping there & back, but not for the service. I can add the shipping price to the sale before purchasing. Generally it can take up to a 2-3 week turnaround, depending on their time schedule.(This includes the shipping time to get it fixed & then sent back to you)
