ABOUT HAPPY PIASSO:

Born in 1972 in the small town of Socorro, New Mexico, Happy spent her formative years growing up in the nearby community of Alamo, New Mexico. Over the years, she has dedicated herself to the art of jewelry-making for roughly half of her life. Happy learned the intricate and traditional art of silversmithing under the guidance of her husband, Rudy Willie, with whom she collaborates closely on various jewelry designs. Rudy is a respected member of the well-known "Willie Family," a lineage rich in artistic talent, with "Ronnie Willie" being just one of his many brothers and numerous siblings, along with countless nephews and nieces who also excel as artisans. Notable names in this talented family include Dakota, Cooper, and Tawney Willie, to mention just a few. Happy is a devoted artist who consistently honors the legacy of traditional ‘Old School’ Navajo jewelry and remains deeply committed to preserving this important art form, a cherished heritage that has been passed down from their Navajo ancestors through the generations..

THE CUFF:

Although I love everything Happy makes, I however have to admit that she really outdid herself with this one!! Not only does the shank have a great curvature & is well rounded, but her applique and stamp work on this, can't be beat!

Beautifully framing the fabulous high domed "egg" like shaped cut of blue Royston, are hand made traditional appliques, conchos & beading.. But what I find extremely impressive is for what looks like corrugated chiseled sterling work near the outer edges, are actually evenly stamped 'ARROWS" that are stamped from end to end, which really add to it's Native/Southwestern vibe!(See photos, but especially photo 3)

The finishing is simply gorgeous & has some great contrast going on,since the darkened oxidation is left within the crevices..Because of this,it helps to accentuate the design & enhances the non-oxidized areas.

SIZING:

Sized for a man OR woman & is made for a larger size wrist that is "fleshy" & needs a wide gap opening to put it over the arm. (1-3/8") Because of the heavy gauge, doesn't allow this to be adjusted, so you would have to know your wrist size before purchasing since cuffs fit different than any other type bracelet, so it is important they fit right!
