ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Rick Martinez is just one of many who comes from a family of Navajo artisans that have built a respected reputation in the jewelry world. He carries on a strong tradition shaped by relatives, including his late and much-missed cousin Kirk Smith, who—alongside Rick’s siblings—played a major role in shaping Rick’s traditional, old‑school jewelry style and the connections and techniques that helped him achieve his place in the industry today.

Just like Kirk or even Harry Morgan, Rick works in heavy-gauge sterling and selects only the highest quality stones available, each piece carrying an unmistakable, heavy Navajo old-school aesthetic. Everything Rick makes is completely handmade rather than relying on mass-produced components to speed the process; he honors the techniques passed down through generations by doing virtually every step from scratch. He typically leaves his pieces heavily oxidized to accentuate the deep stamp work and shadowed crevices, a finish that helps define what is widely recognized as “Vintage Revival” jewelry.

THE CUFF:

Designed in a very traditional Navajo “Concho” design, where the fabulous high grade vibrant cuts of Sleeping Beauty turquoise lay in triangular/diamond shape cluster that sit atop of a corrugated sterling shank. The terminals have a “fan” design.(See photos)

SIZING:

This is made for an average sized 6-1/2" wrist , but is made for a bit wider, but less meaty of a wrist, since it has a 1" gap opening, which is meant for a little more skinnier wrist...Because of the sterling’s gauge, this cannot be adjusted & has to fit right. So it's of extreme importance that you know your wrist size and what gap opening works best for it to comfortably fit over the arm before purchasing.

Cuff's are one of the only bracelets that HAVE to fit properly, so If you're unsure, click on this link: How To Fit A Cuff.
