Navajo Sandcast jewelry dates back to the 1800's & plays a major role in the step moving forward in jewelry design by the Navajo people. Sand casting is an old Navajo technique of utilizing sand as a mold & the art of pouring molten hot silver into the well packed sand.. There is nothing prettier,nor that has that 'ultra classic traditional' look than older sandcast jewelry..The warmth you get in these older pieces is something that the newer pieces just don't offer..

The beautifully curved lines,the graceful way they move throughout is absolutely astonishing! Each line is beveled which gives it it's smooth texture & helps to allow patina to develop in the dips of the metal, only to validate it's nearly 60 year old existence..

It is accented by a cut of turquoise that sits low in it's serrated bezel..The turquoise has maintained it's blue color after all these years.. This is a sign of it being a harder stone & in turquoise,the harder the stone,the higher the quality & the higher the quality,the less the color changes over time. (Softer turquoise will change from it's original blue & then over time will turn to green from it's porosity)

This speaks a story of the past & is what I would call a 'perfectly made sandcast cuff'!

This is made for a small size wrist & is made for a small 6" wrist..If you're small boned/petite, what makes this work for this size wrist is the small 3/4" gap opening, which helps it to stay on the wrist, instead of it flopping around & possibly falling off!
