Navajo "Herman Smith" is known through out the Native American jewelry industry for his work in super heavy gauge silver work. His lineage belongs to ones highly known in the industry such as his cousins Calvin,Leon Martinez,Readda Begay,Fred & Dean Brown & his mother Mary C. Yazzie who was the one who taught him when he was a young man..He is a man now in his'40's & is known also for his very traditional styles.

DESCRIPTION:

It is not easy to do this precise of repousse work on metal when the sterling is this thick & heavy,but when you got a artist like Herman who knows what he's doing,he makes it look so easy! Being made of 2.3 mm thick heavy sheet of sterling,the repousse is impeccable,when you consider you have to have great mathematical skills,good eye sight & great dexterity to do this technique accurately.

It is given a light satin brush finish with a careful oxidation left in the crevices for contrast. Nice enough to shine on it's own,but because of it's straight perimeter edge,you can stack it with other cuffs if you choose!

It can be worn by woman or man(with a smaller size wrist if a man) & would nicely compliment any of today's Native American jewelry.
