Circa 1940s- "DOUBLE ARROW" -Fred Harvey Era- Turquoise Sterling Cuff - For Small/Tiny 6" Wrist- (Adjustable)

$435.00

THE CUFF:
The Harvey/Harvey era jewelry was made for the "tourist" travelers who would travel by train along the southwest & who were looking for Native made jewelry, but without the cost or size. Back then, jewelry was designed with Native motives that actually held meaning along the tops of the piece(e.g.: applique overlays) or stamped motives that were stamped into say the metal, which would have been otherwise, left bare. You'll find many of todays artists just stamping into the metal for looks that dress up the metal, rather than for meaning like they did back then, which leads me to say that these "double arrows" in this cuff actually represent "Friendship".

The double arrows were soldered atop of a split shank, where the perimeter has a softened scalloped design in the center & then stays straight as it leads to the gap.

This is a lightweight piece that is easily adjustable & because of the light gauge, you have to go easy if you were to adjust, since you can weaken the integrity of the metal & then loses it's shape..

This is made for a "Hard to Find/Fit" small boned wrist size & one that is not so 'fleshy' since it has a tiny 3/4" gap. (A fleshier wrist would need a wider gap to put it on) If you do need a wider gap in order to put it on, you can open it up some more because of the lighter gauge. This can be done if you want to go up 1/8" to to no more than say 1/4" more. If you're not sure of what wrist size you have,I suggest you click on "How To Fit A Cuff",as well as copy/pasting the You Tube video also since it gives some valuable info! Cuffs are the only bracelet that have to fit just right, so it's best you know your wrist size.

In the last photo, you’ll find another Harvey era cuff that can be found under “Bracelets”!
