AMAZING!!! -RARE- Pre Eagle - Late 30's- Early 1940's "CASA PRIETO"- Beautifully Cut Out- Wide 3 Panel Amethyst Sterling Bracelet -2.75"- "Metal Art" Masterpiece!

$1,150.00

During the Mexican Silver Renaissance infancy days of design,(mainly in Taxco) you were either a designer who was developing your own signature look or you were a silversmith for these designers who were making a huge name for themselves in the fairly new developed industry. Many of these silversmith's were encouraged to make a name for themselves that they would later develop having their own signature look & style.. But It wasn't only Taxco where this period was flourishing with incredible designs, but in Mexico City & Guadalajara as well. These places were also putting out some of the finest work that was being produced & has become some of the most collectible..Casa Prieto was one of these & were housed in Mexico City.

They were known for their labor intensive, intricate cut out silver work & came out with some of THE finest pieces that are now some of the most collectible in 30's-40's Mexican Vintage..It's pieces like these that make Mexican vintage SO desirable. This bracelet is a perfect example of what Casa Prieto produced & as you can see,it is literally an EXQUISITE piece of art! You don't come across Casa Prieto's jewelry too often, since it has gone mainly into the most collected hands,so their work is somewhat "Rare" & harder to find.

THE BRACELET:

Made in a BOLD design of 3 domed panels, this bracelet shows off Casa Prieto's work at it's best! Each panel was made of one solid piece of sterling, where they then hand cut through the heavy gauge sterling, which gives this it's lacy-see through appearance. Cutting through this thick of gauge sterling, I would think they went through quite a few blades cutting through it! Laying in a vertical pattern, the center of each panel are round cuts of Amethyst, where especially in the larger center cuts, you see all the quartz characteristics Amethyst can be known to have. The smaller cuts are a deep purple, with less quartz showing.

Besides the captivating design, one thing you will notice is the heavy weight this has!! The super heavy gauge dictates it's 4.65 Ounce weight & being 80+ 90 years old & in great vintage condition, I have no doubt it won't last for another, plus more! You cannot bend this & is very durable! This pre-dates & lacks the "Eagle" stamp that was put on pieces after the year 1948 for taxation on every piece being sold in & out of Mexico.

I have been a serious Mexican vintage collector for decades now & Casa Prieto has always ranked high on my list.. So if your mouth waters over "FINER" vintage Mexican jewelry as mine does, then this is a piece that definitely needs to be appreciated for it's amazing workmanship! Again, Casa Prieto is highly collectible & bracelets of this size, style, quality are not the easiest hard to find!

**For additional security, the buyer can also have a security chain made that has a small lobster clasp on the end of the chain,(so you can detach or attach) This would be easy because of the lacy design.
