ABOUT THE TURQUOISE:

The turquoise in this ring, is from the Altyn-Tyube mine in Kazakhstan, also known as the Golden Hill mine. In the Golden Hills mine, where this turquoise is mined, is mined only in the winter month's during the freezing cold & snow. They cannot mine it in the summer due to the area flooding due to the conditions there. It is difficult to get because of the environment & the location.

Kazakhstan turquoise is one of the prettiest turquoise being mined & due to it's popularity, it is one of the most in demand turquoise on today's market..In fact, Golden Hills & Sonoran Gold are 2 separate mines that have both made their mark on US soil that are ranking as high as many of our USA mined turquoise. And when you see the color, you will understand why!

The blues this turquoise is known for, is for it's unique periwinkle color that has these wonderful undertones of lavender with brick color-reddish brown clay color matrix. The blues that this mine produces are unlike the blues from our USA mines.

THE ARTIST:

This showstopper statement sized ring is made by Navajo artisan "Daniel Benally". For those who follow Native American-Southwest jewelry, many of you have heard of not only Daniel, but his wife, Marita Benally" , who is a qualified & well known artist in her own right.. Daniel is known for his traditional Navajo jewelry that he then passed on everything he knows to Marita.. Daniel is so skilled, that he can make anything you put in front of him & loves creating detailed and articulate designs. He is also known for his 'cut-out overlay' work & currently works out of Gallup, NM.

DESCRIPTION:

Sitting pretty in a vertical pattern that lay in a 'shadowbox' setting, are 4 chunky cuts of Golden Hills turquoise that are bezel set on the sterling sheet's base. The cuts sit low, so that when Daniel created the cut out dual textured framing, they rise just above. (See photos) The shadowbox framing is artistically created to where the smoother parts have a scalloped perimeter, while the hand pounded dots, are smooth & straight. The shape is a large perfect oval & sits not only long on the finger, but wide.

The "Satin-Brushed' finishing is one of my favorite finishing's & especially when paired with this color blue turquoise, since it reaps of a 'cool' tone throughout..

PLEASE NOTE:

In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the detail, can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality. Close up's make the item look so large & then you get it in hand & you are shocked since the item is much smaller than how they looked in the photos..So to get an accurate idea of how big this is, check it out on the finger Or you can do is pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements

I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color, so you're not shocked, nor disappointed when you get the piece. Monitor screens vary in color,so please take this into consideration.
