ABOUT THE ARTIST:

In comparison to some of the more seasoned and veteran Navajo metalsmiths, Geneva is a relatively young silversmith who has learned the intricate art of metalsmithing from her mother, Genevieve Apachito, a respected artisan in her own right. Geneva has gained recognition for her exquisite sterling silver beaded jewelry, where she meticulously hand-melts the sterling silver into tiny beads, then carefully placing each one onto sheets of sterling until the entire surface is completely covered with shimmering beads. A proud native of New Mexico, Geneva hails from Socorro, NM, and now calls the quiet town of Alamo, NM her cherished home, where she continues to make her beautiful pieces.

THE RING:

No doubt, but what immediately grabbed my eye with this stunning ring was not only the amazing, meticulous workmanship (that is clearly evident that Geneva literally poured her artistic soul into creating!) but it was mainly the  “INCREDIBLE-OVER THE TOP” quality, color, and unique character of the stone itself! She embraced the stone with such reverence, lifting it high as if it’s on an invisible pedestal, where it commands attention and admiration from all who see it, while leaving a powerful and long-lasting impression. This exceptional stone truly deserves to be in any spotlight, and it is beautifully set with an undeniable, timeless traditional Navajo vibe surrounding it, perfectly honoring the heritage and artistry behind it.

THE WIDE SHANK:

The embellishing’s & stone are soldered atop of a super impressive 6 split -wide tooled tapered shank.. The shanks width has a lot to do with it measuring differently in size when put on the ring mandrel, for example, If I put it on the mandrel one way, it measured 9-1/4, now if I flip it around & put it on the mandrel, it measures at a 9-1/2.(SEE PHOTOS 7 & 8)

So because of the width,what I would look for If I was the buyer, is I would look for a ring that’s size 9-1/4 size, rather than the 9-1/2, (Even though you may wear that size) because with these wide shanks, you want to go down slightly in size in order to accommodate it's just under 3/4" width.

**PRICE IS BASED ON: You are mainly paying for the quality that this particular cut of turquoise has, the "cost per carat" for this quality, and the "amount of carats" You are also paying for the artist's name, the sterling cost & artists time, which are all reflected in price.
