ABOUT THE ARTIST: "RAY WINNER"

We who appreciate art & what an artisan creates by hand, can consider ourselves some of the luckiest people (If not blessed!) , the day that engineer/welder "Ray Winner" stopped at a yard sale & came across a box of silver wire & thought to himself, "if I can create something on a large scale, then why can't I create something on a smaller scale"? And that's exactly what he did ,was he went back to his home in the desert & taught himself the art of silversmithing, by using his skills as an engineer/welder, but only this time, it was backed by pure artistry. Of course there were mistakes where he had to learn by trial & error, but as he got better & better, his creativity also grew to enormous heights & is now considered a "Master Metalsmith" & sought out by name in only the "finest" Southwestern galleries.

Creating jewelry now for just over 50 years, Ray has his own unique style that is easily identifiable & doesn't dare copy others, since he's his own one of a kind artist that has a look all his own! He works in both sterling & gold & is his own lapidarian who cuts all these incredibly shaped stones you see in his pieces, where he brings each, to their ultimate level of beauty!! Ray lets the stones 'speak' to him that then dictate the design. The stones will have a beautiful smooth beveling & are brought to an optimal level of beauty!
