ABOUT THE ARTIST:

In comparison to some 'veteran' Navajo metalsmith's, Geneva is a relatively young silversmith who learned the art of metalsmithing from her mother "Genevieve Apachito'..She is a New Mexico native who comes from Socorro,NM & continued being raised in Socorro county, in the town of Alamo,NM. Regardless of age or how long she has been creating jewelry,it’s the fact of how easy it comes to her, which is obvious in everything she makes.

THE PENDANT:

Emulating a style known to Navajo artist RONNIE WILLIE", this pint sized pendant is made in a understated size & is the perfect size for those who love their Native American/Southwestern jewelry on the smaller side.

Made with a "Cross within a Cross" design & even though the pendant is small, this is a tedious & time consuming process to make. Each of these beads Geneva melted down the sterling to form each bead & then one by one they are placed atop of sheet sterling that has a oxidized finishing.. The bale & backside of the pendant has a contemporary mirror polished finishing.

The bale opening has about a 3/8" opening (Roughly 9 mm) & can be used with a regular sterling chain or a strand of sterling beads. You want to put it on no more than say a 7 mm bead size, so it can move & breathe on the necklace. With the pendant's finishing,you can use a mirror finished sterling necklace OR oxidized.. But what would also look cool, is putting it on leather for a more casual look! I see this having another option & that is by removing the bale & used on a charm bracelet or necklace! (Just an idea)
