ABOUT THE ARTIST & PENDANT:
Delbert is considered a veteran "Master Navajo Artist" that has been at this now for decades. (Born in 1955) He's an artists artist, that has taught & helped pave the careers for not only his nephew "DERRICK GORDON" but also many of today's traditional Navajo jewelers that you find in the industry.. He's the guy that they look up to when they need technique/inspiration.
Delbert sits high at the top of my list as being one of my personal favorites for many reasons, since it's not just about making a ring, a pendant or a cuff, but it's what he does in regards to the metal that makes each piece of his, literal works of art! No Delbert's not an artist who does "simple-plain" designs, but rather one who artistically creates all the repousse and or heavily stamped applique embellishments you see, that are then layered & layered & layered atop of heavy gauge sterling, which then give each, their ornate artistry. These appliques are an art in themselves & are just as important to the design, as much as the turquoise is.
Like any artist that's been at it awhile, they end up developing their own identity & once you get familiar with his work, it's not hard to identify whose work it is. You'll know his work by the heavily layered 'over the top' embellished appliques, his use of high grade stones, the finishing, etc. Owning anything of Delbert’s is like owning any great piece of art,but only with his work, it's in 'metal/stone' form.

THE REMOVABLE-INTERCHANGEABLE BALE:
There are 2 ways you can wear the Naja, one is with the bale or the other, is by using the shepherd's hook soldered to the back of the pendant. What I love about this type of bale, is if you have another shepherd's hook pendant, you can remove this bale & add it to the other pendant. The one thing you want to keep in mind, is if you use it with say, a strand of Navajo Pearls, you cannot go any bigger than a 12 mm diameter bead.(Shown in photo 3) The opening of this bale has a 13 mm diameter opening, but you want the beads to flow freely on the strand & be able to breathe. The bale is made in a tubular shape & if you zoom in on the bale photos, you'll notice that this too, is artistically made! The twisted wire design is soldered to the bottom of it & acts as the connection for the shepherd's hook! How creative!

THE FINISHING:
One thing I love about Delbert’s work is that he instinctively knows how to bring the sterling to its maximum level of beauty! This is an artist who knows how much & where to leave the darkened oxidation, by leaving it the darkest in the crevices, so the lighter shades are boosted with contrast in order for the pendant to stand out, allowing all that Navajo beauty to come to life!

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:
*****In order to show all the fine detail, close up photos tend to make the item look much larger & everything also is more magnified .So to get an accurate idea of how big this is, please pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements listed above.
I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color, just so you're not shocked, nor disappointed when you get the piece. I do however find photographing anything with 'yellow' in it, (oranges and greens) can come up a bit little more vivid than other colors, so please take this into consideration. Please understand also that each monitor varies and also plays an important role in how vibrant or less vibrant as something appears.*****
