THE NECKLACE:
This 5 panel designed necklace is completely made by hand by one of Federico's best, where it's clearly obvious of the years they have behind them & to do a necklace like this,you have to be skilled in lapidary work to make the stone look this pretty!!
The wings started out from chunky cuts of green Carico Lake turquoise & then one by one, each are chiseled & then beautifully beveled, which give each sectional part of the wing, their graceful lines & smooth appearance. The abdomen,eyes & the antennas are designed in a Zuni Pueblo style of inlay, where they are precisely mosaic inlaid with Carico Lake turquoise,Orange Spiny Oyster shell & black Onyx. This technique is truly time consuming & also takes skill when you figure that each piece has to be cut perfectly to ensure the balance & form are just right as they lay in their mosaic channel inlaid form.The completed design lays in their own sterling bezel and is finalized with chiseled leaves & are also hand carved.
This sits high on the neck where the viewers eye will quickly go to & follows the neckline beautifully! The closure is a push in tongue clasp & has a wearable weight without hurting the neck(See weight bellow) & folds up easy for travel.

Please Note:
I am not a professional photographer, but I do try to do my best at giving you accuracy in color. Warmer toned pieces (Especially orange!) can come up more vibrant & seriously saturated,so please take this into consideration.
