ABOUT LARRY COOLEY TURQUOISE:
The turquoise used to create this necklace, came from the late Larry Cooley’s private collection. Mr. Cooley was widely respected as one of the industry’s finest turquoise vendors—an authority artists turned to when they wanted the very best material for their own designs. Deeply knowledgeable about the market, he could clearly distinguish lower-grade material from premium turquoise and was dedicated to offering only the finest examples each mine produced. He would never offer a stone to a customer that he wouldn’t be proud to use himself.
The turquoise he collected and sold were qualities only the most discerning "turquoise connoisseurs" would purchase. He maintained a vast collection made exclusively of premium, all-natural turquoise—stones mined long before treatments became common—representing the very best each mine had to offer.
So these cuts represent an excellent grade of natural turquoise, a quality that is increasingly rare and more difficult to find today unless you’re prepared to pay top dollar per carat. Much of the finest material has already moved into private collections and steadily increased in value, making new sources scarce. After Larry’s passing, his collection drew intense interest from collectors and dealers alike, but because of Federico’s longstanding relationship with Larry and his family, he was fortunate to acquire this once-in-a-lifetime, limited—and very pricey—turquoise. (which is reflected in the price). Once these particular stones are used up, they will be gone for good.

DESCRIPTION:
Words can't even begin to express the excitement you're bound to feel just to own a necklace like this. The quality is outstanding — from the uniform trapezoidal cuts to the warm, golden matrix character — and the thoughtful design and ideal length make it truly special. With this particular piece, it really seems to have it all. It stands among the most amazing necklaces I have in stock right now and is one of the finest I've carried from Federico over the years. This is what you'd call "Fine Southwestern Couture" — exceptionally made, with exceptionally beautiful turquoise.
The turquoise in it is a perfect example of not only the excellent quality of turquoise that Larry had, but—knowing this industry as I do—it's not just extremely rare; but do you realize how nearly impossible it is to find this much old Pilot Mountain turquoise in one single piece that matches in both shape and character? This remarkable consistency alone is what gives the piece its flawless, uniform look.
It is designed as a XXXL 47" long lariat length, with 41" of that measurement sitting in the neckline alone. The turquoise shows a gorgeous soft-blue hue complemented by abundant true golden-caramel matrix that gives each stone its own distinctive character. The stones are polished to a high glossy finish, which speaks to their quality—chalky or stabilized lower-grade material simply won’t take the same careful lapidary finish.
The dragonfly's cuts are in proportion with the cuts on the neckline, and at a quick glance it almost resembles a cross. Each cut is joined together by jump rings, which allows the piece to fold neatly and makes it especially convenient for travel.
The turquoise is gently accentuated by a simple bezel setting, chosen so as not to compete with or distract from the stone’s natural beauty, allowing the eye to remain fully on the turquoise. Each stone is set in contemporary mirror-polished sterling, providing a clean, luminous frame that complements without overpowering.
This is a true "One of a Kind" necklace—there will never be another exactly like it—so only you will own this singular piece. It represents Federico at his finest and is crafted with the care and timelessness to serve as an heirloom to be treasured and passed down to future generations.
PLEASE NOTE WHAT PRICING IS BASED ON
Factored into the price for this necklace is not only that this turquoise is in limited supply & cannot be replaced, but it’s also the artist’s name and reputation, the number of carats and the cost per carat. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for the time and expertise required to create the piece. These are just some of the elements that together explain and contribute to the higher final price of this necklace.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:
I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try my hardest to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color. I photographed this in front of 2 different colored back drops, all giving a different feel. So please zoom in on all of the photos to get an idea. But please realize also, that all monitors are different, so the materials can look more vivid (or duller) from one computer to the next.
To give you close up photos, so it’s best to look at the mannequin photos to get an accurate idea of how big this is and how long it lays on the body... Or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements since pictures can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality.
