Veteran Navajo Artisan-GERALDINE JAMES- Azurite and Vibrant Orange Spiny Oyster-Clip On Sterling Earrings-2" Long

$295.00

THE ARTIST:

Navajo artisan Geraldine James truly stands apart from other artisans because, no matter what design or material you present to her, she can skillfully create just about any style imaginable. Her impressive talent spans a broad spectrum, ranging from classic traditional Navajo designs to incorporating a variety of unconventional Navajo stones and beautifully faceted gemstones. What I particularly admire about her work is that she confidently steps beyond traditional boundaries and refuses to be confined to the usual southwestern jewelry elements like turquoise and coral, bringing fresh creativity to each piece she designs.

THE MATERIAL:

Azurite is personally one of my absolute favorite stones when it comes to a rock’s unique character and beauty. Azurite is unique for the fact that it is like having both Lapis and Malachite perfectly intertwined into one stunning & gorgeous stone! Azurite also compliments any Lapis jewelry collection and or Malachite collection!

These earrings are thoughtfully designed to rest firmly on the same platform, without any movability for a secure and stable fit. (See backside in the last photo for reference.) The design prominently features chunky, pear-shaped Azurite cabochons that are elegantly domed, adding a bold yet refined look. To enhance the overall aesthetic, fiery hot orange spiny oyster cuts are used as accents. These are actually square-cut stones, but they are artfully arranged in a “diamond” shape, creating a striking vibrancy and dynamic contrast to the earring. Additionally, the earrings are designed in a clip-on style earring.

EARRING PROVENANCE:

They are used & came through my store by way of a Santa Fe collector who was no longer wearing them & was downsizing. These are a bit vintage, being not too too old.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:

*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color as much as I can. I do however find that photographing anything with 'yellow' in it, (green & orange) a little tougher to photograph, since this color can come up a bit more vivid than other colors. Remember also, every monitor is different ,so while some can show something to be more vivid ,other monitors can make it look duller. .

In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the detail, photos can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified & exaggerated than in actuality. Close up photos tend to make the item look so large & then you get it in hand & you are shocked since the item is much smaller than how they looked in the photos.. So until I get a photo showing how they look on the ear, you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements.
