Federico Jimenez- Whimsical / Abstract / Wearable Art- Mosaic Inlaid-"Butterfly wearing a CHIEF Headdress"-BIG Sterling CLIP ON Earrings -3 Ounces!.

$3,000.00

THE EARRINGS:
After having lost a wonderful mosaic staff member to Covid, little did Federico know there was a 'blessing that was about to happen" when another mosaic artist came along with some impeccable skills that are far above average when it comes to impeccably made lapidary art & mosaic inlay work.. This on staff member has actually become a real top favorite of mine for this type of workmanship & every time I look at his work, I can't help but go on this 'workmanship' journey where you can witness his phenomenal mathematical & artistical skills that are so clearly obvious!!

These earrings are pieces of "wearable art" that lean toward being 'abstract,in a "whimsical" sort of way..The figure is actually portrayed as a "Man/Butterfly" that has an exaggerated male head of Spiny Oyster, long Onyx black hair that is tied back with a cut of shimmery white Mother of Pearl. The abdomen is then designed with cuts of natural Sleeping Beauty turquoise, onyx & spiny oyster shell..

Laid on the same sheet of sterling are 7 linear shapes that graduate in size & which depict the butterfly wearing a "Chief" feather headdress. If you zoom in on the butterfly's face profile, you'll see where he even has a nose & mouth that have been chiseled in!

All these materials are hand cut & shaped by hand & each section is set in their own bezel which is then outlined with a twisted wire wrap. On the headdress, the materials are laid horizontally in a mosaic channel inlay.

If you zoom in on the last photos, you'll see I am offering a whole suite in this style!! I have posted the matching rings,(Under “Rings”) the cuff (Under “Bracelets”) & am offering a pin in this same design that was one of Federico's earliest pieces, but instead of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, the pin is made with old Blue Gem Turquoise & is a teal color. The pin is the only thing that's vintage.(Listed under “Pins/Brooch”)

If you're not home in the day & need them shipped where they can be signed for, please change that in your "Ship To" section before I create the shipping label***I'm sorry if this may be an inconvenience, but I do not ship expensive pieces without one. This is for your safety & mine.

PLEASE NOTE:
*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color..In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the detail, photos can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified & exaggerated than in actuality. Even though these earrings are large, close up photos can make the item look even larger & then you get it in hand & you are shocked since the item is much smaller than how they looked in the photos..So to get an accurate idea of how big these are, please either check them out being worn to get a rough idea (photos) or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements.
