These premium cuts of Morenci are another perfect example of the turquoise that came from the late Larry Cooley's collection! Larry was a "scholar" in the turquoise industry & had a vast collection from every single mine,with only the finest,premium qualities on hand,so when artists like Federico would come to buy,this was who they went to.

Larry collected for decades & since then,many mines have since closed down..His collection of course was all natural & one thing you wouldn't find was low grade & or treated stones.That would had ruined his name & reputation!! THE EARRINGS:

These 2 stone drop design is one of the most enduring designs that will be around no matter how advanced & what direction we turn to, in jewelry design.Its a #1 choice among woman that want an earring that says a lot,but without the weight & size & one that can take them from day to night!! These have that gorgeous blue known specifically to the Morenci mine,along with it's fingerprint pyrite matrix also known to this particular mine (And lots of it!)The mine was closed decades ago & was once the largest copper mine in Arizona. With these,you'll not only see the pyrite,but some quartz AND what is really rare is if you look at the left earring (Right one in the photo) you'll see how the copper from the mine comes through & has a shimmery metallic look.

The cuts would be considered "Free Form" & it wasn’t so as important getting them to match in exact size,as much as it was matching them in the color & the mine they came from.They are however,closely matched as much as possible. The turquoise comes natural (Reflected in the price) & are not treated like you'll find with less expensive style pieces. The color actually is prettier in person!
