WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT 'LARRY COOLEY' TURQUOISE?
These premium cuts of the turquoise came from the late Larry Cooley's collection.. Larry was considered a "scholar" in the turquoise industry & had a vast collection from every single mine & only having on hand the finest, premium qualities, so when artists like Federico & others would come to buy, this was who they went to.

Larry collected for decades & since then, many mines have since closed down.His collection of course was all natural & one thing you wouldn't find in his stock were low grade & or treated stones. This is one reason his name stood out in the industry & was the "Go-To" dealer for many designers. His collection was mined long before they started treating turquoise & had the best that each mine produced.

So these cuts are all natural, which is getting more & more difficult to find anymore, unless of course you're willing to pay top dollar per carat. After Larry's passing, everyone wanted dibs on his whole collection, but because of Federico's long time connection with Larry & Larry's family, he was fortunate to purchase this 'once in a lifetime' limited-priceless collection(This is reflected in price) So once these stones are used up, they're gone!

SLEEPING BEAUTY TURQUOISE:

Sleeping Beauty is known for blues like no other & look almost unreal, because for one, they lack the matrix character we often associate with turquoise & for two,the vibrancy is unlike any other turquoise. This particular turquoise works well when a artist is doing cluster work & desires having a uniform look throughout where there's no variation in color.. Although these cuts were mined when the mine was still active, unfortunately as of today, the mine is now closed which has made this turquoise even more valuable & now comes with a higher price tag per carat,..

DESCRIPTION:
Like most, when I look at jewelry, one of the 1st thing that pulls me in, is the design.. THEN I look at the quality of stones. Yes, there are other factors that go into me wanting to pull out the credit card,but If the piece lacks one & or the other, I pass. In other words,I want the total package to be it's best.. I have to admit, what is so uniquely special about these STUNNING looking earrings however, is for the fact that they have both as to what makes these a great earring! So not only do these have an extremely attractive-eye catching design that dominates their whopping 4" long look, but are made with the beauty of gem grade cuts of Sleeping Beauty turquoise!

Oozing a powerful & elegant southwestern vibe, these are made in a soften 'diamond-rhombus' shape, where the 3-1/4" cluster drop is anchored from a oval cut of blue Royston turquoise. If you zoom in on the photos, you'll see that the design is repeated on both the top & the bottom & is separated by a horizontally laid single tear drop shaped cut. The design is made where the inner portion is lined with round cuts, whereas the outer is lined with smaller sized tear drop shaped cuts.

Due to the generous amount of materials, these do have a bit of weight, so for those who only wear dainty, ' I can hardly tell they’re on' type of earrings, these then, may be too heavy.
