EARRING PROVENANCE:
From Federico's colonial gold collection that originally were being housed in his "Jimenez- Belber" museum in Oaxaca..Most people know his name for his head turning turquoise jewelry, his romantic Oaxaca Dove jewelry,etc.,but most don't know that since a young man,he has been a avid collector of some of the most highly prized pieces of both gold & silver jewelry with the focus of his collection on Mexico & Native American. He has exquisite tastes & incredible knowledge for the "rare & unusual" with many pieces being over the top which are much like his own designs..

THE EARRINGS:
Small & sweet,it is obvious that these were made by a master jeweler where you can just witness all the steps taken to see these were made perfectly.They have been professionally tested at 12k gold.

Displayed at both the top & bottom of the earring, is precisely formed filigree wire that is soldered to the beautifully designed oval shape floral center. At the top of this section are 2 spread leaves that are made with a 'diamond cut' that gives texture to the metal & adds a tad of sparkle when they hit the light.(See photo 4) If you zoom in close, especially on photo3,you will see how the artist made these little hand made floral 'cups' for the pearls to sit in. The pearls then act as the floral bloom.The pearls are then sewn into the metal (see backside)

These are small & light & would be perfect as a starter earring for a little toddler,but are also perfect for the adult woman who loves the historical beauty of vintage Oaxaca jewelry & can't wear a large heavy earring!
