THE EARRINGS:
These conversational earrings are nothing less than true wearable art, and they clearly required an artistic, creative, and visionary eye to imagine in advance — to see exactly what could emerge when you use and arrange these three shapes together!
Designed to emulate a Native American Kachina, these abstract pieces of art are designed with a wide cluster headdress featuring tear-drop-shaped cuts and a round cut for the face. Resting on the same sterling platform (see backside photo) is a body formed by a large oval cut, small round cuts representing the hands/arms, and legs shaped with elongated tear-drop cuts. The shell is securely bezel-set atop a contemporary-finished sterling setting.
Unlike many of Federico’s earrings, these aren’t the over-the-top huge like we often see in his designs, nor are they so tiny you can barely notice them. They have a 2-3/4” length and between the length & the rich, vibrant color, they strike the perfect balance and will certainly not go unnoticed!

Not only has Federico’s prices increased, but the cost of what artists are now having to pay per gram, per ounce for sterling since that & gold have reached an all time high, but also what materials are now costing per carat weight for materials! (Sterling-Shell-Stone) And we all know that depending on the item, Federico as a rule doesn’t use little skimpy stones & the bigger they are, the more they cost. Everyone is having to charge more because of this, which is being passed on to me & then unfortunately passed onto you. It’s factors such as this, that are reflected in the price for these.
Also factored into the price for these, is the artist’s reputable & long standing name in the industry, his reputation and years in the business, the number of carats and the cost per carat for the materials used..(The orange Spiny Oyster costs more than the other colors it produces) Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for their time and expertise required to create these.

I find photographing anything with 'yellow' in it, (oranges, greens) can come up more vivid than other colors, & with oranges especially, it picks up all the underlying yellow tones, so please take this into consideration. I would call the color more of a vivid ‘orange-orange’ ,so please go through all photos to see ANY variation. (I think when they are against the hand, they look to be a bit more accurate) But also please realize that all screen monitors are different, so the materials can look brighter (or duller) from one computer to the next.
In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the intricate detail, the close ups can tend to make the item look gigantic & everything is more magnified than in actuality. So to get an accurate idea of how big these are, please either check them out being worn on the ear to get a rough idea (photos) or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements
