Arracadas were brought into Mexico centuries ago during the Spanish Colonial days & became one of the most traditional styles known to Mexican jewelry,with the focus on Oaxaca,Mexico..They are as Mexican(Oaxaca) as it gets, when it comes to traditional & highly popular styles. Arracadas come in a wide variety of sizes,from small to extremely large jumbo sizes. To some,these may seem big,but actually they are more of a medium size that have a wearable weight.

Filigree is a technical & mathematical art form that not all artists have mastered & it takes repetition,the desire & years put in to do it right. With these,this technique is obvious that they were made by one of Federico's skilled Oaxaca artisans.If you zoom in on especially the last 6 photos,you will witness how precise each curved,twisted,looped(See outline!!) of the wire is, that highly contributes to their accurate circular form.

Another traditional step is the serration you see in the metal that gives these a 'saw' like texture.This technique has a lot to do with the overall look.The earrings are accented by hand sewn garlands & what also contributes to the 'totally hand made' factor, is the 'hand made' omega spring backs!!
