Well Designed Vintage Early 1940's Mexican Turquoise (?) /925 Screw Back Earrings

$95.00

These came from an estate who was a collector of vintage Mexican jewelry..I tried to hand picked the best from the collection & what attracted me & I loved about these, was the wonderful sterling work these have! You can see the time, thought & love went into making their unique design!

Secured in 4 prongs is a marquise cut of turquoise(?*) that is apart of the raised section. This part sits higher than the scroll design base. It is obvious that the stones cut dictated the marquise shaped sterling design. They are such an example of what contributed to the beauty of vintage Mexican pieces that came from one of the most popular era's of Mexican jewelry design. These pre-date the eagle stamp which was mandatory starting in 1948 in Mexico.

** After editing my photos,I noticed on the underside that the blue does not run all the way through(see photo 4) you will see white under the stone, which tells me these may not be turquoise. So I am not sure what the stone is? **

**If you don't wear screw backs,(I call them 'vise grips!), these can be converted into posts by a laser jeweler.. "Laser"jeweler's don't use heat to solder,so no natural patina is lost, stones don't have to be removed, etc.I use one here in Santa Fe for all my vintage or for pieces that are cluster designed, since regular jeweler's would charge for each stone to be removed..And with vintage, you don't want to lose the patina!!! He is pricey & I would charge the same thing he charges me,which is $45,but the earrings will look the same way they look now..I cannot always get over there the same day, since I run a physical store,so it may be a few days, just so you are aware of this..His turn around is pretty quick.Let me know if you need me to do this & I can add the additional conversion price BEFORE purchasing**
