ABOUT AUTHENTIC NAVAJO PEARLS:
On today's market there are sterling beaded earrings, necklaces & bracelets that people call “Navajo Pearls” and are nothing but merely a mass-produced, machine-made sterling bead; then there are those made entirely by the hands of Navajo silversmiths. These are the latter and what should be called "AUTHENTIC" Navajo Pearls. Real Navajo Pearls require an extremely labor-intensive, time-consuming process and are far more valuable because of the workmanship and hours invested in making them by hand rather than by machine. Once you repeatedly see the genuine article, you will, with time and experience, be able to distinguish machine-made pieces from those that are truly artisan made.

THE EARRINGS:
Both pairs of these were made in the same manner; the only real differences are their length and the bead shape between the two. Although they are not signed, I confidently guarantee them to be Navajo-made based on the vendor I purchased them from, who specializes exclusively in Native American jewelry. The vendor told me they arrived with other Native-made pieces, though, unfortunately, the individual artist’s name was never recorded for these particular items. From their construction and style, they do appear to be the work of the same artist.
Because of the sterling’s finishing, these will blend seamlessly with a contemporary jewelry collection or a more traditional one. They work either way — and they’ll be the perfect complement to Navajo pearl necklaces or for a day when you wear all sterling. Comfortable and light on the ears, they’re easy to wear all day.

With everything literally increasing in price, these were purchased after the sterling & gold went off the charts in regards to pricing. This rising cost is reflected in what artists have to now pay per gram or ounce for the metal, as well as for their materials, which also have increased! .Artists are now forced to charge more because of this, which is being passed on to me, then passed on to the consumer. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan for their time and expertise required to create these. Even though the prices are getting higher, I still feel we need to keep buying or else, not only the artist will be forced to get out of the business, but vendors as well..
