THE ARTIST:

Warren Nieto isn't just another pueblo artisan making the same thing, the same way, but is an artist who has taken his ancient old culture that he then applies into the designs he makes. Warren Nieto's Puebloan culture comes through in just about everything he makes...Using his lapidary skills to "paint" a story", these story's are told through his stone (And or shell) creations..No,his work isn't just a lot of cut shapes, but have actual traditional meaning behind each & everything he makes.He's a very good friend who is spiritually connected, very kind, humble & respectful..

THE EARRINGS:

These are not a long, "over the top" sized earring, but what takes over their size is dominated by their vivid blue color! The square shaped tops are hand mosaic inlaid & which are used to support the 3 cylinder dangles that Warren made himself! But uniquely different from other modern day Pueblo earrings is for the fact that if you look closely at all the photos, you'll see how Warren takes us back to a centuries old time period when his ancient Puebloan ancestry in the Chaco Canyon/Mesa Verde region created dangles that were held onto the earring by way of string.. This was long before sterling jump rings were used to connect the dangles & come from a 900-1300 AD time period !! The string is then tied in a knot on the backside & burned to lock the knot in.(See last photo's backside)

They are very wearable on the ears since they are a smaller sized earring with no metal. These are NOT cut by the 1000's by a commercial overseas factory, but rather one by one, are made by the hands of Warren who cuts everything by 'eye & feel' without the use of calipers to measure..
