ABOUT TYLER BROWN:
The son of the late, great Navajo artisan Dean Brown, the still relatively young Tyler Brown has already made a significant name for himself in the industry and is widely regarded by many (including myself) as a master Navajo silversmith, despite being only in his early 30s. It was Dean, who began teaching Tyler the art of designing traditional Navajo jewelry when he was a young teenager. Although his father was Tyler’s primary influence, Tyler was fortunate to be born into a large, celebrated family lineage of Navajo artists — a clan of highly respected artisans known throughout the trade and to whom he is directly related. So it wasn’t just Dean who shaped him; Tyler’s uncles also played an important role, including artisans such as Hemerson Brown, Anthony Skeets, and Lee Charley (with cousin Matthew Charley), and the late Navajo silversmith Kirk Smith, who was a second uncle to Tyler. When you grow up surrounded by so many of our industry’s giants, it’s hardly surprising that their skills, knowledge, and art would naturally rub off.
Based out of Gallup, NM, Tyler is frequently requested by name by collectors. I would personally say Tyler’s work is recognizable for several reasons that immediately identify his hand: 1) His incredibly varied, BOLD cluster designs. Yes, there is a lot of cluster work out there, but Tyler’s approach is how he carefully handpicks stones in a variety of shapes and then arranges them that give his jewelry the unique patterns they have.. He often turns stones in unconventional ways, giving his clusters a modern, edgy sensibility that stands apart from other artisans. 2) He works with heavy-gauge sterling so you feel the presence of each piece, and he also favors super-chunky stones, so that when worn, his jewelry reads as a true“WOW” piece you can both see and feel !! 3) His impeccable workmanship is evident in every detail. 4) His use of high-grade materials and thoughtful color pairings lets each stone pop when placed side by side, resulting in visually striking, harmonious designs.
Regardless of how modern the industry becomes, Tyler is still considered “Old School,” faithfully following the traditional Navajo techniques of his ancestors that were used long ago, and he continues to design most pieces from scratch.

THE CUFF:
Statuesque, huge, monumental, mammoth, enormous, giant — call it what you will, but these are just a few words that truly capture the essence of this cuff. Designed to project a bold, commanding presence, this is a cuff that instantly draws attention and you will unmistakably feel it on your arm. Beyond its mesmerizing design, the substantial weight is one of the first things you’ll notice! Weighing just about a 1/2 ounce shy of a 1/2 POUND, this is one seriously well-made, all-around statement cuff.
Designed in a three-panel platform, this piece is thoughtfully designed with hand-picked oval cuts of Japanese white coral that form a halo cluster around the chunky cuts of lapis, which are securely soldered atop extremely heavy-gauge sterling silver. The impressive center measures a whopping 3-7/8” tall by 3” and features a horizontally set marquise cut of lapis paired with a trillion cut for added visual impact. Surrounding the coral are hand-made small stamped conchos and beads that alternate with the white coral, adding texture and rhythm to the design. A curved sterling wire traces the perimeter, creating a unique scalloped edge. Outside the center are 1.50” round panels with a floral design made from the same materials, completing the bold, cohesive composition.(see photos 8 & 9) The panels sit on a 5 split shank made of heavy gauge ½ round sterling wire that are soldered together at the terminals (gap) for added strength in this area.
SIZING:
This is made for a 6-1/4" wrist & It's of extreme importance that you know your wrist size and what gap opening works best for it to comfortably fit over the arm before purchasing. Cuff's are one of the only bracelets that HAVE to fit properly, so If you're unsure, click on this link: How To Fit A Cuff. And while there, be sure to copy/paste the You Tube link, which shows you the “Proper” way to put a cuff on!

*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try my best to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color.. So please go through all photos to see ANY variation. Remember, each monitor displays the color differently from one to the next, so this too, has to be taken into consideration.
In order to show all the fine detail, close up photos tend to make the item look GIGANTIC & every little detail is much more magnified. Also, what can look major in a photo, has to be pointed out in person. So to get an accurate idea of how big this is, please view photo of it on the arm or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements in the "Info".
