A PERSONAL WORD:

When I’m out scouting for jewelry, I’m always on the lookout for a piece that truly intrigues and impresses me—not just for its design, but for the impeccable workmanship behind it. With a designer/jeweler background myself, I especially appreciate pieces that reveal an artist’s hours of dedicated work, the kind of creation that can’t be finished in just a few hours or even a couple of days. In other words, work that only a master could produce, which the level beginners haven’t reached yet. .

I have stocked architecturally designed necklaces by Federico before, but never bracelets and I do know that I am literally left breathless each & every time, since they are not made too often & when they are available,they are works of art— a piece that clearly tells you how long the artisan has been at it and that required a mathematical, architectural, analytical, genius-type mind to conceive, not to omit a great “eye for detail” . If you ask me, I’d say It belongs in a publication like Architectural Digest -Jewelry Design Magazine or maybe in Tiffany’s or Neiman’s!

DESCRIPTION:

To appreciate a jewelry that’s made at this high of caliber, you have to not only appreciate the obvious month's it takes to make these, but to hand pick all the 4 mm round Amethyst, which are placed atop of each miniature size link sterling component.

Super sophisticated and over-the-top classy, this piece is designed in an elegant ‘link’ style where each sterling link component is painstakingly made from scratch. Some links feature a single cut of amethyst facing one direction, while others contain two cuts that are visible from both sides. Each link interlocks with the next, allowing the amethyst to display continuously around the full diameter of the bracelet..(See photos 2,3,4,5,6,7)

Although it only measures roughly 14 mm (just over 1/2”) round in diameter (I measured where there are two amethyst on a link, which is the widest point), there is nonetheless a substantial amount of sterling silver in these which brings the total weight of both to just under the 3 ounce mark. For its understated size, it carries some weight.

*** I do want to mention that link bracelets are not meant to fit tight and are meant to sit at or approximately right below the wrist & not sit in the middle of the hand area & then slip off. (Means it’s too big!) ***

Even though the 8” seems long, it actually fits my child size 5-3/8” wrist! So I would get this size if you’re an XS to Small (I’d say up to a 6” wrist)—The 9” is for a Medium to Large (6-1/2”-6-3/4”- or possibly a 7”?) ***

Although Federico is pretty much known throughout the southwest, this is one of those pieces where you won’t feel like you have to add other southwestern pieces to wear it! It’s contemporary in style while having a "Upscale” vibe that can be worn literally anywhere in the world..

Factored into the price for this bracelet is the artist’s name and reputation, the number of carats and the cost per carat. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for the time and expertise required to create the piece. Remember, you are not paying for the weight with these, but the time to make them! These are just some of the elements that together explain and contribute to the higher final price of this bracelet.

With the gold and silver markets literally being out of control & at an all time high, while increasing on a daily basis, the rising cost is directly reflected in what artists now must pay per gram or ounce for the metal.
