ABOUT HAPPY PIASSO:

Born in 1972 in the small town of Socorro, New Mexico, Happy spent her formative years growing up in the nearby community of Alamo, New Mexico. Over the years, she has dedicated herself to the art of jewelry-making for roughly half of her life. Happy learned the intricate and traditional art of silversmithing under the guidance of her husband, Rudy Willie, with whom she collaborates closely on various jewelry designs. Rudy is a respected member of the well-known "Willie Family," a lineage rich in artistic talent, with "Ronnie Willie" being just one of his many brothers and numerous siblings, along with countless nephews and nieces who also excel as artisans. Notable names in this talented family include Dakota, Cooper, and Tawney Willie, to mention just a few. Happy is a devoted artist who consistently honors the legacy of traditional ‘Old School’ Navajo jewelry and remains deeply committed to preserving this important art form, a cherished heritage that has been passed down from their Navajo ancestors through the generations..

THE CUFF:

No this isn't a huge statement size southwestern cuff that comes with a overpowering weight, but what this DOES have, is a cut of turquoise that should be on the top of any turquoise connoisseur's list ! If you are one who loves a more understated Native American made turquoise cuff & would prefer 'quality' over 'quantity', then this may be a great call!

This is made with a top notch-gem grade cut of Pilot Mountain turquoise that has THE most gorgeous color blue!!! Like many, I too am a huge fan of Pilot Mountain for it's color & natural beauty!

The oval cut of turquoise is set atop of a skinny cuff that is stamped in it's entirety & has been left with oxidation deep in the crevices for a 'Chiaroscuro' sort of contrast. Traditional Navajo star conchos,beading & appliques are displayed on both the right & left of the stone.

The gauge is neither too too thick,nor is it weak & flimsy, but rather made with a gauge that allows this to be adjustable, that is, if you have to do adjust it at all.(It would be best if this fit you perfectly! :-) Adjusting it to fit properly is also something that a "Reputable" jeweler can do.
