A PERSONAL WORD:

This statuesque cuff is the perfect example of what helped Federico’s name rise to the top and capture a worldwide audience of admirers. Few artists create jewelry as boldly oversized (if not magnificently massive!!) as he does, and such commanding work remains uniquely his.

He has made a name for himself by designing the most unique jewelry in a very fearless sort of way, creating these bold, memorable pieces that are made to capture the eye and hold attention for the striking effect they have on the public.

THE CUFF:

Standing a whopping 5-7/8” tall, this piece is creatively designed to emulate a Native “Chief” adorned with a dramatic double-layer, long flowing headdress. Designed primarily from warm, rusty color orange-red Spiny Oyster shell with a few shimmering Abalone accents, the perimeter of the headdress features evenly matched teardrop-shaped cuts while the inner section is composed of chunky 9 mm round cuts for depth and texture. The face is set with a round cut measuring just under 1” across, and the oval body expands to an impressive 1.50” x 1-1/8”. Its arms are substantial ovals accented by small round Abalone insets, and the legs are linear cuts selected to perfectly mirror one another in character and balance (see photo 5). The Abalone feet are oriented outward for a expressive stance. Finally, the clustered figure is carefully soldered to a tapered shank that has been entirely hand-tooled, completing a piece that blends meticulous workmanship with the choice of materials.

SIZING:

This cuff is designed to fit a large 7” wrist size, and specifically not only a wrist that needs a larger/wider ‘east-west’ interior circumference,(2-3/4”) but for wrists that have a little bit of "flesh", as the gap has an opening of 1-1/8 inches. A wider gap is generally more comfortable for someone with a little meatier wrist, while a smaller gap tends to suit skinnier wrists better. To determine if this gap opening is right for you, you can measure the gap on a cuff that fits you well and compare it to this one.

There are 2 ways you can wear this..The face going toward the hand or you can turn it around & have the body going up the arm.(See 2nd,3rd photo) If you wear it shown in the 2nd photo and because of it’s length, you can avoid it extending down nearly to the top of your fingers (Like shown in photo 2), by wearing the cuff somewhere around 2.50” or so up from the wrist so it’s sitting on the arm, rather than the wrist. When you wear it there, the feet should be sitting closer to the wrist area.

With that said, you not only have to know your wrist size, but the diameter of your arm in the area I mentioned, since that is bigger than the wrist. Also, because the shank is basically separate from the cluster work, you can either open the gap up yourself (With know how) or by a reputable jeweler.

So please know your wrist/arm size before purchasing, since cuffs fit different than any other type bracelet & it is of extreme importance they fit right!
