FEDERICO JIMENEZ-Exquisite Lapidary! THE Most Gorgeous Blue Sleeping Beauty Turquoise-Channel Flush Inlaid -Sterling Bangle-For Small/Medium to Medium Size Wrists

$1,395.00

SALE FOR ONE BANGLE-I ALSO HAVE HAVE THIS SAME STYLE BANGLE IN LAPIS,SO WATCH FOR THOSE! (SEE LAST PHOTOS)

To appreciate these bangles, you first need to understand the skill and care required to make them. It begins with an extraordinary, highly trained lapidarian and metalsmith. Similar to the inlay work of the Zuni Puebloan people, each 9 mm square stone(3/8”) is precisely cut by hand to follow the curvature of the bangle and to fit exactly between the narrow slivers of silver, creating a continuous channel of stone. Every cut is meticulously executed by Federico’s expert lapidarian on staff. The stones are flush inlaid, meaning they do not sit above the metal but are set level with the surface of the bangle. This time-consuming technique demands exceptional precision—each stone must be cut to the exact size with no gaps, because being even a millimeter or two off would prevent the bangle from achieving the flawless, refined appearance you see.

The color of the turquoise is outrageously juicy and vibrant! The blue will have you melting away before your very eyes!! These stones come entirely from the now-closed Sleeping Beauty mine, famous for its vivid, striking blues. This Arizona mine differs from many other mines because its turquoise typically lacks matrix, but when or if the matrix does appear, it’s extremely minimal. Because of that omission, some people mistakenly think the stones look almost too uniform or even fake. In my experience, customers either love this look or they don’t — it really comes down to personal preference and taste. The lapidary work here is superb, and the cutter gave each piece a beautifully professional, high-polish finish.

These are made to fit the smaller side of medium to a medium-sized hand/wrist. Bangles are measured differently than other bracelet styles because it’s not so much the wrist circumference you need (like with a cuff) as it is the bangle’s ability to pass over the widest part of the hand, which is around the upper thumb bone and across (left to right or vice versa).

Just so you know, bangles are not meant to fit tightly; if they rest near the top of the hand, that’s perfectly fine. What you don’t want is a bangle so large that it wants to slip completely off the hand and fall to the floor.

FITTING:

What I suggest is: if you have a bangle on hand that fits you well, lay it flat on top of a paper measuring tape and start at the 1" line (as shown in photos 14 & 15). Then note where it measures from and to (east to west). Pay attention to the “interior measurement” only, not the outer edge since you only want to measure the part that will lay against your skin. Then compare that interior across measurement to the one I provide.

PLEASE NOTE WHAT PRICING IS BASED ON :

Unfortunately Federico has had to raise his prices since the price of sterling (& gold) has gone up and fluctuates on a daily basis. Many pieces have more than doubled in price because of this. (Some have tripled!) Between the price that metal is costing artists, plus the rising cost for materials and labor, there was no other choice but to increase everything.

The pricing is dictated also by Federico’s name and his decades old reputation in the industry. Also included is the need to compensate the artisan (And or staff) for the time and expertise required to make these bangles for Federico. These are just some of the elements that together explain and contribute to the higher final price of the bangles.

I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try my hardest to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color. I photographed these in front of 2 background colors, so please go through all the photos to see any variation. Also, be aware that all monitors are different, so the materials can look more vivid (or duller) from one computer to the next.

To give you close up photos, pictures tend to make the item look GIGANTIC & everything is more magnified than in actuality. To get an accurate idea of how big this is, please read all the measurements in the photos & under the ‘details” section. (see photos) or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements above
