THE SLEEPING BEAUTY MINE:

This very eye catching cuff showcases a stunning color that only the Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine offers.. The unimaginable and staggering hue originates out of this now closed Arizonan mine, which has produced some of the most beautiful and bluest turquoise available. This particular mine has become a top choice for jewelry artists and designers who prefer consistency in color and seek to avoid any variation, wanting a stunningly uniform appearance throughout their pieces.

This mine is not only unique for its remarkably vibrant and over-the-top color, but also for the fact that it notably lacks the 'matrix' character that is typically produced by other turquoise mines. Because of this matrix omission, many people mistakenly think that this turquoise is "fake," which is far from the truth! This is literally the color that emerges directly from the mine when it is all cut and expertly polished to perfection!

The mine has been closed for some time now, which has only contributed to the increase in demand and price for this prized turquoise. These days, you can’t touch this type of quality, without paying top dollar per carat for any of these stones!

THE CUFF:

When this stepped foot through the store doors (brought in from a well-known Santa Fe’an arts collector), the first thing that grabbed me about this particular cuff was not only the vibrant turquoise, but the unmistakable, exceptional quality of each stone. Anyone who follows me knows how much importance I place on carrying premium turquoise jewelry, with this piece being no exception. Each stone displays that high-luster, “spit-shine” finish that we are seeing less & less— a depth and sheen absent in treated or lower-grade material. So if quality matters to you, you’ll truly appreciate the superior stones in this cuff!!

It’s made in a sectional three-panel piece, featuring a 2” wide floral face with cuts that are all non-calibrated and are free-formed shaped cuts. The stones have a somewhat trillion-like, oval-ish to roundish appearance. (My guess is that they were most likely cut by hand) Each stone sits in a smooth bezel and is accented with twisted rope and hand-melted sterling beads that nestle between the stones. The side panels each hold three stones and, by following the rounded perimeters of the stones, helped to create a scalloped perimeter around those panels. The panels are mounted on a tri-split shank, and because the shank wire is not made from an extremely heavy-gauge sterling, the piece can be adjusted (with the know-how!)

SIZING:

This is made for an average sized 6-5/8" wrist ,(just 1/8” shy of being a 6-3/4” wrist) but actually is made for a wider, but less meaty of a wrist, since it has a 1-1/8" gap opening, which is meant for a little more skinnier wrist... If this doesn’t quite measure to be the perfect size to fit your wrist, I would recommend taking it to a reputable jeweler who knows how to adjust cuffs to either open the gap up more or close it down some. . Just remember that the only thing that can be changed when adjusting is the gap and does not change the “Interior” 5-1/2” measurement. It's of extreme importance that you know your wrist size and what gap opening works best for it to comfortably fit over the arm before purchasing.
